Xbox Scorpio’s IP list that’ll show off its power this year

Microsoft through Eurogamer and digital Foundry have unleashed the specs for Project Scorpio which will get its official unveiling around E3 in June. The breakdown confirmed that it’ll be a powerhouse with a CPU: Eight custom x86 cores, GPU: 6 teraflops, RAM: 12GB GDDR5, Memory bandwidth: 326GB/s, Vapour-chamber cooling and a 1TB Hard Drive this thing is the most powerful console created to date. If that wasn’t enough much like the Xbox 360 did for Xbox games like Halo 2 through anti-aliasing, Scorpio can achieve similar tweaks with previous released games running much smoother on its console.

We’ve discovered that numerous websites have found reliable sources that can all but confirm not only what games will be shown off this year but those that will be headlining the consoles launch this fall. This should all be seen as rumors but is the most likely scenario.
Forza-7
Forza 7which should honestly be a no brainier will be shown off this year looking incredible at 4K and 60fps gameplay. Earlier this year they’ve been testing Forza on the Scorpio to small parties which ran as smooth as to be expected. Some have also claim to have seen code in Forza 6 Apex on the PC which relates to content not presented in that game.
crackdown-3-gif
Crackdown 3 has been delayed or not fully discussed since its original announcement date. Microsoft has shown off the games through technical demo but word is they’ve been holding out for about a year to show off what the game can really do which the Scorpio will deliver on.
fall-out-vr
Fallout VR has not been confirmed for it nor has the support for a specific VR headset but many aside Oculas is on its way! Interviews with Phil Spenser in the past has led people to believe that VR headsets will be supported somehow with Scorpio as it is also intended to be a true VR cable machine.
state-of-decay-2
State of Decay 2 which should also not be a surprise. This recently was discussed as the company said the sequel is 3x’s bigger then the first game and has seen a delay itself which could only be explained by trying to get more power out of a more powerful console.

The next Call of Duty as this is a game that has a few exclusives now with Xbox and being that Activision had made graphic updates for Playstation 4 Pro for both Infinite Warfare and Black Ops 3 this shouldn’t be a daunting task at all.

Rumored and speculation include Battlefront 2 which is said to be announced, Red Dead Redemption 2, at least one EA sports game and a few previously released games like Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3 and Recore. All of this will be announced E3 or close to it as it’s coming up fast. This is also only a partial list of what we be announced and it’ll have people wanting to start saving their money to pick one up!

Lenovo IdeaCentre Y910 Review: All-in-One Gaming King

For those that are PC gamers know that not many All in One Gaming PC’s come out and have the functionality and performance that a gaming desktop would have bit you might want to take a look again. Lenovo created a beast when releasing the IdeaCentre Y910. It features things you wouldn’t have expected including a few extras so how to it rank with us?
lenovo-y910-review-754
Design/Hardware
First off this thing looks great, equipped with a 27″ monitor at 2560 x 1440 which makes for gorgeous visuals. The monitor tower has a bunch of ports, hidden compartments and upgradability. With two USB 3.0, two USB 2.0, a headphone and mic jack, a 6-in-1 card reader, an HDMI in and HDMI out which gives you a lot of accessibility with this thing. We also had discovered the pop up RealSense 3D camera on top which is great for webcams and streams and the pop out stand to place gaming headphones if you like.

Our model has a GTX 1080 graphics card, 16gb of ram, a 256gb SSD hard drive and a 2TB hard drive. This made for some off the charts performance but we’ll get into that in a minute. The 144hz refresh rate is also a big highlight for smooth and competitive gaming alike. I had no sync issues or tears while playing a few games and looking at trailers which I’d expect from monster PC towers.

In terms of upgradability Lenovo are giving you the ability to simply pop off the back panels and change out the ram, the hard drives and the graphics card itself. This is great to keep the longevity of the unit going for sometime. The keyboard and mouse that come with it are pretty lacking for a setup like this. The keyboard works fine but the mouse feels like something from 2001. You would hope you got something a bit more for your money but you might also have your own preference mouse and keyboard handy as well.

Since this is all packed into one form factor the unit itself is not small at all and weights a decent amount but that only makes sense. While we like the security of a pop out camera on top we can’t help feeling that the spring at some point will give in or make it difficult to use. We also stress to be careful while placing things on the stand for headphones as too much weight could bend or break it.

Audio
The Y910 has harman/kardon speakers which make for great sound, cranking it up sounded surprisingly good. Within the Lenovo brain center on the computer you have an option to boost the audio which gave it a bit more pop. I’ve found I like to have it on for games but off for movies and looking at shows. Both give a rich experience but like any other monitor speaker setup, at a 100% they start to distort but not too much where it becomes a problem. Most gamers might have gaming headphones and provides separate jacks for audio and mic if you have a boom mic or a splitter which is better.

Performance
So this is where it really matters as the GTX 1080 graphics card and 16gb’s of ram come into play. The machine performs excellent compared to other All-in-Ones. When playing games like Gears of War 4, Forza Horizon 3, Overwatch and Battlefield 1 I had no problem cranking this up to the highest settings (Ultra) getting 70-100fps. Some games when the battles really got hectic would be between 60-80fps but I was really amazed it performed this well across the board. This thing is also fully capable of VR as well running on the higher end of performance with Oculus Rift and HTC Vive.

You can also configure settings with Lenovo Nerve Center app within the computer as their’s not much there beyond that. The app lets you configure different display options, performance, audio and network settings as well which is great for those not trying to do tons of work to get the best out of the machine.

Overall
This is possibly one of the best All-in-One’s we’ve ever tested. Its performance is top notch, great screen refresh rate for smooth gameplay and component parts and to be honest you’re only really paying a few $100’s more on its design and warranty options. Our only real complaint is that beyond another generation or so we’re not sure if the power supply will hold up with graphics cards that’ll come out then since it will require more power then this can handle. The monitor is also not 4K which as that’s growing could be a concern but I personally would take the 144hz refresh rate over and if it means that much could hookup another source via the HDMI out to do so on that. We’d fully recommend the Lenovo IdeaCentre Y910 as it has exactly what you need to step up your gaming while not investing the time and energy required to making your own tower.

Check out our video review in the coming days as we show off a bit of the machine with our review.

PAX East: Corsair Booth Experience

While at PAX East we got a chance to visit the Corsair booth and got a chance to play around with a bunch of new keyboards, mice, and headsets. Corsair had a buffet lined up for us to take a look at everything. Starting at one of the main computer kiosks with a full set up with tricked out Crystal Series 460X RGB Mid-tower case with full RGB innards, such as their Vengeance RGB DDR4 ram sticks, RM850X power supply, liquid cooled, ML series fans with the built in RGB lights, and to top it off an amazing crest from what it looked like sandblasted onto the glass of the 400C case. Topping off accessories wise they had a MM800 RGB POLARIS mouse pad, K65 keyboard, Void wireless gaming headset, and a Scimitar Pro RGB mouse to match the black and yellow color scheme which is completely controlled with their Corsair Utility Engine.

Corsair1

Next down the line was Corsair’s Void series headsets, mice and mouse pads. The Void series consists of 3.55mm jack headsets all the way to USB and even the wireless variety that has a range of about 40 feet. All the Void headsets come with a 50mm sound drivers, Dolby 7.1 surround, collapsible microphone, and comfortable ear pads for those long gaming runs. The headphones were super comfortable, and with the large sound drivers pushing tons of bumping bass, gun shots and explosions sounded awesome. For their mice lineup M65 PRO RGB, Scimitar RGB, and Sabre RGB, along with their MM800 RGB Polaris, MM600, and MM300 mouse pads to boot.

Last up was their keyboards. K70 RGB, K65 RGB, and K95 RGB, Strafe running with Cherry MX silent switches or Cherry MX RGB Speed switches, difference of course being RGB or the regular editions with non RGB lighting. The Cherry MX Speed switches have super low activation time of 1.2mm vs. the normal 2mm. They had multiple versions of they keyboards, whether it be in different RGB patterns, different style finishes, or just dynamic lighting, Corsair definitely had a keyboard for every type of PC gamer. They even had WASD key covers for you extensive gamers who wear down your WASD keys. I look forward to hopefully getting my hands on some of this hardware to give you guys a further in depth view of what Corsair is bringing to the table.
