Bethesda Softworks had announced sometime ago that they will be releasing the newest addition to the Fallout franchise, “New Vegas”. Along with the standard game, Bethesda is also releasing a collector’s edition which includes the following:
“Lucky 7” poker chips which are significant in that they represent each of the 7 casinos you visit during the course of the story.
A deck of cards, with each card illustrated to represent a certain character or faction within the normal game.
The graphic novel “All Roads”, which was written by creative director Chris Avellone in conjunction with Dark Horse Comics.
And lastly, the behind the scenes DVD of Fallout: New Vegas, which includes stories, legacies, and other fun intricacies of the Fallout franchise.
Fallout: New Vegas (as well as the collector’s edition) are dated to be released in the fall of 2010.
LittleBigPlanet 2 is making its way like no other game can, appealing to everyones imagination. Here are just a quick set of facts, truths and rumors for this very unique sequel.
LBP2 releases this winter.
LBP2 borrows elements and engine function from the God of War 3 engine
The motto for this sequel is still “Play, Create, and Share.”
All downloadable content and existing user-created levels will work for LittleBigPlanet2.
There will be a new overhauled camera system. Players have full control over camera positions as well.
Vehicle controls are directly assigned on the PS3 controller, with the motion sensor moving the vehicle left and right.
Their are many new themes, over 75 new costumes, and new sticker packs.
The game will feature 30 new developer levels.
One of the new game mechanics is the grappling hook.
Their are new creatures called ‘Sackbots’. Sackbots are Sackboy drones that are programmed by the player and have much depth with their actions.
Recorded voiceovers can be used through the Playstation Eye camera for the game.
The games new tools make it easier to create racing games, shooter games like Space Invaders and strategy games like Command and Conquer.
This sequels campaign will be longer than the original game.
Level Links will be implemented into the game. Players can link many stages together to create one big level, instead of returning back to the pod after each level ends.
Their is a better sheen to the game, adjustable lighting, improved color palette, Sackboy, background now have detailed depth, and all of these qualities carry over from the original game.
When the game releases it will not have a Playsation Move function, but planning to release it in the future.
The game features QR Codes. They are digital barcodes which can be printed to take with you. Players can hand them to your friends, which then can beheld up to the Playstation Eye and then be taken straight into the level.

Capcom is hitting you with a dose of retro handheld gaming next month. This 2D action side-scroller is featuring Zero in some of his best adventures. Zero will have his familiar weapons like the Buster Shot and the Z-Saber, along with un-lockable ones. There will be new modes like for example the “Easy Scenario” which will give players easier gameplay compared to the usual challenging gameplay.
The Mega Man Zero Collection is going to release on June 8th for the Nintendo DS. On this DS cartridge holds all four of the previously released Mega Man Zero games for the Game Boy Advance for the price of $29.99.
Lost Planet 2 is a third person shooter game created by Capcom. This sequel takes place 10 years after the first where the snow has melted and tropical areas have taken form. This game features a 4 player co-op campaign with HUGE enemies. Now you can customize the appearance of your character along with its weapon set. The Vital Suites (VSs) come in a wider variety, with a few being co-op based. Thermal Energy is handled a little different in this game. Due to the warmer climate T-ENG doesn’t constantly drain. Players lose energy from sprinting, using VSs, and to replenish heath. The multiplayer verses will have some new modes as well.
Skate 3
Skate 3 is created by EA Black Box and is back on the grind. New to the skate series is the ability to change the difficulty: Easy, Normal, and Hardcore. Easy mode gives the player easier grinds, faster spins and higher ollies. Hardcore mode gives the player less height on ollies, 5 pushes to gain top speed, and more simulation based. Also there are new multiplayer game modes and a Create-a-Park.
3D Dot Game Heroes
3D Dot Game Heroes is an action-adventure game that is created by Silicon Studio. This game has a one of a kind style, showing 2D style graphics in a 3D environment. The gameplay is familiar to previous Link and Zelda games from the first NES. Players create their own character model to start off with. Health plays a big role on the players sword, if health is full, the sword is at max power. This adventure has the player battling enemies, exploring dungeons, and collecting items including bows, boomerangs and magical powers.
Rocket Knight
Rocket Knight has returned bringing the classic Sparkster back. This is a platformer game that is developed by Climax Studios. The game has two modes: Arcade which has no save points from level to level and Freeplay mode with a map screen that lets the player save and select levels. It is nice to see a great retro game back in action.

3D Dot Game Heroes (PSN)

DING DING DING ROUND 2 Alright guys and gals, it’s play list two in action for the Halo: Reach Beta. This time around the guys from Bungie have released Invasion and Invasion Slayer. Invasion is a three part campaign for Elites, the first and second part consist of getting into the Spartan base and capturing a generator to deactivate the shields that block the Elites from advancing further into the Spartan base. The third part for Elites involves forcing their way out of the Spartan base with intel and delivering it to a Covenant drop ship. If the Spartans can halt any advance of the Elites and time runs out then the game is over.
During the first part both teams have limited access to classes, either consisting of different load outs of weaponry and abilities. After the Elites capture the first base classes open up and more are available along with a weapon drop and some vehicles for the Spartans. During the third part even more variations of classes and weapons are unlocked, even vehicles for the Elites are available. The load out list and classes are as follows for each part:
Boneyard Map
This decommissioned UNSC frigate and Commonwealth site is a big playground. The stage feels like two in one, depending on how you look at it. A couple of places have two stories in them, while weapons can be found scattered throughout the map. Vehicles are also in this and are at the very opposite ends of the stage. The Spartan base, and the beginning of the outskirts.

Invasion Slayer is basically Spartans vs. Elites first team to 100 kills win. You’ll find randomly positioned territories throughout Boneyard. Capture them and you’ll initiate an airdrop that will be deployed 10 seconds later. While you wait for the air drop of weapons or vehicles be ready to defend your area because there will definitely be people aiming for you. If you survive long enough be sure to grab the air drop because once on the ground its up for grabs.
Phase 1 (0-25 kills, or until the 4 minute marker)
Spartan Weapon Drops: Power Weapons (Rocket Launcher, Sniper Rifle)
Elite Weapon Drops: Power Weapons (Plasma Launcher, Focus Rifle), or a Ghost
Phase 2: (26-50 kills, or until the 8 minute marker)

Both modes are definitely something new to try out. Our encounters with Invasion is that everyone needs to have a clear understanding of what’s going on, at least from an Elite standpoint. This is also the first time where new Elite load outs include the use of Active Camo and Jet Packs. As a Spartan your just defending, but positioning yourself in the best flank territories is where the strategy comes in. As Elites the final breach to grab intel becomes surprisingly difficult if not complete teamwork is used. Boneyard Slayer adds a little more creativity to the classic Slayer type, the addition of drop ships and counters by kills helps to keep the pace going which works pretty well.

Namco has released a new trailer for Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. The Enslaved story is loosely based on Chinese lore of Journey To the West, which involves the Monkey King. Enslaved seems to have free running mechanics in place, well at least to some extent, their also seems to be a pretty good fight mechanism with finishing moves. Sony has just released the trailer for Little Big Planet 2. The game just looks amazing. Buy one game then create or download hundreds of different ones, in a sense. Little Big Planet was a great game, but Little Big Planet 2 is looking promising to be even greater. Again the only thing that’s going to hold you back from having fun in this game will be the limit of your imagination. After this trailer, tell me you don’t feel like a kid all over again?
