Two is better than one: Two Sonos One smart speakers for $349!

0

Sonos today announced that for a limited time you can get the “Sonos Two” bundle – two Sonos Ones for just $349 in the US and £349 in the UK starting on January 26. Launched in October of last year, Sonos One delivers great multi-room sound, the widest selection of supported music and audio content services available on a smart speaker, and easy to use voice control.

This limited time offer on the smart speaker for music lovers is available on Sonos.com and through participating retail partners.

“Sonos One sounds incredible on its own, but the ability to have a stereo pair or have music in two rooms vs. one at $349 US feels like it’s an easy choice for those who truly love music,” said Joy Howard, chief marketing officer at Sonos. “We believe in freedom of choice and don’t want to lock people into a specific ecosystem – it’s why we support more than 80 streaming services globally and will take an agnostic approach to voice assistants as well.”

Sonos has previously announced that the Google Assistant as well as Apple AirPlay 2 will be coming to its platform in 2018.

Sonos One pairs the awesome sounding multiroom audio capabilities that the company pioneered with voice control. In addition to support for music, podcasts and everything else that customers love about Sonos, Sonos One allows owners to enjoy other great things people love about Alexa – the latest weather updates, ability to set timers, access to flash briefings, news and traffic reports, as well as the latest sports scores.

Sonos One is already getting smarter through cloud updates. In the few months since launch, we’ve already made the following enhancements:

· More music services: Added Spotify voice control in November.
· More of the information you want: Added support for Flash Briefings – a feature that Echo owners love.
· Smarter responses: More accurate wake word responsiveness when it’s noisy, when talking quietly, or when Sonos One is further away.
· Streamlined set-up: We have improved the set-up process with auto-skill enablement to reduce the number of steps to get started.

Our CES ’18 Gaming Roundup

CES give opportunity for more then just tech in TV’s and gadgets but gaming as well and some companies came with great accessaries for gaming you’re not going to want to miss! Here are some of our favorites we saw at the show this year!

HyperX Cloud Flight
HyperX had announced during the show that they were releasing its first ever pair of wireless headphones. The Cloud Flight will have a LED of the logo on the headphones and boasts 30hours of battery life. That’s of course with the LED off but these were press light weight and a modern design that looked well with the rest of the lineup.

Netgear Nighthawk Pro Gaming XR500 Router
This very customizable router had tons of features not only in hardware but software side as they’ve built a robust web app that lets you know everything going on with the router, where to focus its bandwidth and even automatically setting up a VPN. Our favorite feature was having the ability to setup where you would want to connect in terms of game servers so you can keep lag to a minimum!

Nvidia’s BFGD TV
One of the sleeper hits for us at the show. Nvidia showed off its Big Gaming Format Display which it is working with three manufactures so far to make it happen. Acer, Asus, and HP will be releasing Nvidia’s display later this year and can expect different flavoring to it. Some of the coolest things we saw with the display was Nvidia incorporating their GSync technology, reducing the amount of screen tear and having dynamic refresh rate. This would also serve up a great picture quality during movies if everything said holds up.

Razer Project Linda
While not specifically tide to gaming this cool prototype combined Razer’s powerful cellphone and a small laptop that serves as its dock to combine them for a hybrid computer. What you get is a the Razer phone that can act as a computer on the fly and not only looked cool but ran very smooth. Mobile gaming to the big screen looked even better and since the phone is functioning while the laptop is on you can get custom displays like selecting items and viewing stats on the phone while the laptop screen was clear of all HUD displays.

These were just a taste of what we got to see at the show but definitely got our attention of the next wave of products happening in gaming. Stay tuned for more on these and other roundups from CES.

Our CES ’18 TV Roundup

1

Like every year CES is the place that companies showcase plenty of products but the one thing that you can’t miss are the TV’s. This year brought more break throughs into 4K and HDR which many of the benefits of why can be found here. Some manage to even surprise us in the sea of TV’s we’ve seen. Here are some of the best we’ve seen at the show.

Samsung’s The Wall
Great name for an even greater concept. This TV is new technology for Samsung bringing in Micro LED. This is able to match OLED on a pixel to pixel level by making modular panels that can scale larger and even smaller then the 146″ one displayed at the show. Bringing in all the bells and whistles while also taking on the newly announced HDR10+. We spoke with the Blu-ray Disc Association, the UHD Alliance and Samsung on how it will dynamically change a pictures high dynamic range frame by frame like Dolby Vision and it looked great when demoed.

Sony A8F OLED TV
With its speakerless design this TV has a different form factor then its competitors. 4k with HDR and is coming in at 55, 65 or 77″ the base in the back and its kickstand is where the guts for this TV lie. Not only that but it has vibration technology that admits sound through the panel itself. Using Sony’s X1 Extreme chip, it’s a gorgeous looking display that has a very chic appeal to it.

TCL Roku 6-Series 4K HDR TV
Coming in aggressively as one of the more consumer friendly priced manufactures in the market for TV’s bringing in newer waves of technology, TCL is taking it a step further by bringing an overall better picture quality in their next line of sets. Specifically the 6-Series not only brings 4K and Dolby Vision but also a new iPQ Engine and a versatile HDR Pro Gamma control. This is easily one of the better end sets that looked great and won’t set you back much for everything you get.

LG’s 4K UHD Projector HU80KA
One wouldn’t know as this is not something heavily promoted by LG but they’ve had a line of projectors for a few years now. This one for us was something very impressive as they came up with a very unique home projector that can be placed in many areas in a home setting while boasting 4K, HDR and is none other then a laser projector which means this will lastly upward of 20,000 hours of lamp life. The picture quality looked great and with so many options this will be a great way to introduce a 4K projector in your personal space. It’s also coming in at under $3000 which is impressive in its own right.

JVC Quantum Dot 4K UHD HDR TV
We got a nice preview of JVC’s line of TV’s as they’re looking to make a comeback in a big way. The one that stood out for us was how they’re entering the Quantum Dot 4K scene and it looks to be shaping up quite nicely. Not only was this a great looking display with 4K and HDR but they’re looking to have a line of connected audio to go along with their TV’s as they have very portable sound bars making it a great addition.

This was just a sample of some of the better TV’s we saw from the show and stay tuned for more roundups, thoughts on these products and news as it comes in.
