As the Virtual Console hits it's 3rd birthday one of the biggest titles has been released for the online service. Super Mario Kart which was originally well over 15 years ago is now avaliable for download at 800 Wii points. For those who want to relive the past of the SNES glory days, you can't do better than this title, Super Mario Kart was the original kart racer and literally created the sub-genre of racing games.
The world finally got its big Xbox Live update today in the form of Facebook, Twitter, last.fm, and Zune. The new features are numerous, on the Facebook side players can now update their statuses, view their images, and message their friends. Twitter users can tweet, and everyone can listen to their favorite tunes through last.fm. And of course there's the Zune video features.
Analyst Ben Schachter estimates that Modern Warfare 2 sold seven million copies on its first day of sales. To put things in perspective if you remember the launch of Grand Theft Auto 4 that was considered a huge debut and it sold around 3.6 million copies. If this analysis is anywhere near true then the gaming world could be looking at a new all time record. However the real numbers won't be apparent for at least a few more days.

Last year the unlikely duo of Mario and Sonic teamed up for the first time in Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games. The game was a fairly decent attempt at creating an Olympics game set in the cutesy worlds of Mario and Sonic. Although most of the games were simple and straight forward they still made a solid collection of mini-games. Now Mario and Sonic are back in the Olympic Winter Games.
