The Resident Evil series has spawned many spinoff titles in recent years but one in particular stood out, and it was an on-rails shooter for the Wii entitled Umbrella Chronicles. The game allowed players a chance to play through Resident Evil 0, 1, and 3 through the eyes of the characters in the series. Unsurprisingly the on-rails gameplay was a perfect fit for the Nintendo Wii, allowing two players to fight side by side using their Wii-motes. The game got decent reviews, and was a welcome M rated game to the kid friendly console. Now Capcom looks to build upon their spinoff with Dark Chronicles, the game will feature Resident Evil 2, and Code Veronica as the main story. Capcom also stated the game will stand out from Umbrella Chronicles in several ways, including the ability to evade attacks. The title is also said to have a classic horror feel to it as opposed to the main series that has taken a much more action theme route. Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles is scheduled for a late fall release.
