With Nintendo announcing the 3DS at E3 last year it almost didn't come as a surprise that they unveiled their newest console to be making its way into homes soon. Officially named Wii U, the focus is not on the console itself but on the controller. They had playable tech demos along with some games to be arriving for the consoles launch next year, we got a chance to check out what this new device is all about at Nintendo's booth at E3.
Nintendo revealed during their press conference that Luigi's Mansion 2 is coming to the 3DS. Nintendo promises new gameplay elements with the sequel. Not much details we're shown, and no release date has been given.
Wii U is the new Nintendo console, the controller has a tablet interface that comes with a lot potential for games. At E3 Nintendo had several playable tech demos that were shown off to show what the new controller can do. Nintendo reminded everyone that the tech demos are just to show how the Wii U's controller can work and did not say that these were games. Overall even though the tech is at an early stage the demos showed enough of what the controller can do.
Microsoft dropped bomb on us today and announced a release date for Halo Anniversary, a HD remake of Halo Combat Evolved. Due out November 15 of this year, Halo will offer online co-op and the original seven multiplayer maps all remade and updated. Come November 15 prepare to enter the boots of Master Chief again.
