Titanfall’s next major update to include Horde like mode

0

Respawn will be releasing its next update for Titanfall and say this is the biggest one yet. A new mode will be added called Frontier Defense in which you and three other friendly Titan players will stand against wave after wave of AI enemy opponents. You will have access to torrents and other defenses while trying to survive the attacks.

Ranked play will also be added but will be in beta form. Their is actually no mode for this as it will be baked into all modes but will be available through invite at first. All Gen 10 players will receive beta access and can invite others to join the fun.

Other things include Sudden Death in CTF, Map Stars, Full Screen Minimap and more. Check out the full detailed list below. Everyone will be able to start the new features when it hits for both Xbox One and PC tomorrow.

Developer’s Post
New Features (All Platforms)

Welcome to our biggest update ever! There’s a lot of cool stuff included in this most recent update and you can learn more about the addition of ranked play in our recent blog update. We’re also trying some experimental changes in this patch, which means we’ll work to fix anything that breaks as soon as possible and we’d love to hear your feedback through our social channels. The goal is to make your experience better than ever and we hope you enjoy this update.

Brand new cooperative game mode – Frontier Defense
Join forces with up to three other players in this cooperative game mode to defend a vital objective from increasingly intense waves of AI combatants.

– You and your team will face down familiar foes as well as the IMC’s newest combat units: hordes of Grunts and Spectres, stealthy Sniper Spectres and Cloak Drones, explosive Suicide Spectres and Nuclear Titans, ranged Mortar Titans, and even melee-resistant Arc Titans!

– Supplement your firepower by earning and deploying stationary turrets around the battlefield.

– Leverage your full arsenal against the IMC without skipping a beat by using the new Loadout Crates near the objective to switch loadouts at will, while refilling ammo and ordnance.

– Pilots who fall in battle are flown back into the fray in a dropship that circles above the action before touchdown. Experienced Pilots always maximize their impact on the struggle below by firing from the side window of the dropship on approach.

– Seasoned players can challenge themselves to beat their best score. Try to earn 3 Map Stars on each map!

– Play in every corner of the Frontier, including the maps introduced in IMC Rising and every previous Titanfall expansion!

Ranked Play
Test yourself! Ranked play will enable you to work your way through an increasingly challenging set of Tiers by out-performing other Pilots in battle. This is not an exclusive mode or playlist and it works in all standard competitive matches.

In order to obtain the metrics we need to finalize the details, this feature will be launching in beta form.

The beta will last at least through October. After the beta, it will be open to all players level 32 or higher. A new season of Ranked Play will begin on the 1st of each month.

Looking for a beta invite? All Gen 10 players will receive beta access, in appreciation of their skill and determination. Gen 10 players may also invite other players to join in the fun. Gen 10 players are given 5 invites to Ranked Play, and 3 more invites per day. We may also expand beta access during this period.

Sudden Death in CTF
In Capture the Flag if the timer runs out and the scores are tied, the match will go into Sudden Death. Respawning is disabled, the first team to capture the enemy’s flag will win.

Map Stars
For an additional challenge while playing the game, we’ve added 3 stars to obtain in each primary game mode of each map. The stars you earn persist forever and you only have to earn each star once. To earn the star just play a match and reach the indicated score requirement. There are a potential of 504 stars to earn, and new Titan Insignias to unlock for earning a total of 30 stars combined for a game mode. You can view the progress of all Map Stars, and their requirements, in the “Levels” menu under “Personal Stats”.

Full Screen Minimap
To improve coordination among teammates, we’ve added the ability to bring up a full map by pressing Right D-Pad or “M” on the keyboard.

New Titan Insignias
7 new Titan Insignias have been added. 2 for Frontier Defense, 5 for Map Stars completion.

Private Match Burn Card Sets
Instead of using your regular Burn Cards in Private Match, you now specify a set of Burn Cards for the lobby. Each player has access to a copy of this set and may make whatever selections they see fit.
• Fair and Balanced—Set designed for competitive play.
• All Cards—One of every Burn Card.
• No Rares—Every Burn Card, excluding rare cards.
• Ghost Match—Collection of cloak-related cards.
• High Velocity—Collection of stim-related cards.
• Machine War—Spectres…fighting Spectres…with armies of Spectres.
• Fightin’ Titans—Collection of amped Titan weapons, anti-Titan weapons, etc.
• Amped Up—All amped weapons, all the time.
• CTF Competitive—Set designed for competitive Capture the Flag.
• LTS Competitive—Set designed for competitive Last Titan Standing.
• None—No Burn Cards.

Black Market Additions

New Titan OS Voices
This update introduces new Titan OS Voices to buy in the Black Market. Sid is aggressive and dominating, while Vanessa is warm and inviting. In addition, you can purchase Black Market versions of the Betty Titan OS in multiple languages.

Black Market—Forged Certifications
Completing challenges can be hard, but on the Black Market, cheaters always win. This update lets you buy “Forged Certifications” which allow you to skip all five tiers of a challenge. You won’t receive any of the rewards for those challenges. Be careful, though—there is a new Xbox Live Achievement, “Too Legit To Quit” (0 points), to reach Gen 10 the old fashioned way—without skipping any regen challenges! Players who are already Gen 10 will also receive the challenge retroactively. Skipping a challenge that is not a regen requirement will not affect the achievement.

More Featured Game Modes coming!

Deadly Ground
The floor is covered in deadly electrified fog! Play a variety of maps in Hardpoint, Capture the Flag and Marked For Death while staying off the ground. Deadly Ground is scheduled to launch as the new featured game mode on November 5th.

Marked for Death Pro
Do you like Marked for Death but pine for classic round-based intensity? Look no further than Marked for Death Pro, poised to launch on November 26th.

New Features (X1)

17 new Achievements
Gotta pop ’em all! Are you a bad enough dude or dudette to get all 2000 cheevo points?

New Features (PC)

New graphics quality settings: TXAA and HBAO
Got the GPU horsepower to take your game to the next level? Switch on HBAO for increased realism and shadows, and if you’re rocking a supported NVIDIA GPU you can also enable TXAA (2X or 4X) for increased fidelity.

Improvements and Optimizations

Load times are now significantly faster.

Specifically the time it takes to get from the main menu to a private lobby has been greatly reduced as well as the time to get from the game back into the lobby at the end of a match.

The load screen now displays the correct map name and game mode as early as possible. We managed to remove the delay before the next level showed up, and fixed bugs where the previous map and gamemode showed up in the load screen instead of the correct values.

Decal rendering optimizations were applied.

UI Improvements
The daily challenge menu now has a countdown telling you when new daily challenges will be available.

When abandoning a daily challenge, the selection will no longer return to the top of the list.

General
Changed the music that plays on the last round of LTS.

Gameplay Changes

Black Market Prices
Some item prices have been adjusted to align better with the rate at which people earn Credits.

Marked For Death
During the countdown, the player who will be marked is highlighted to his friendly teammates by an in-world icon and a minimap icon.

When you become the marked player, you now gain full minimap vision. (Previously, it gave you minimap vision of all players, but not AI). We’ve added a visual callout for this in the form of a bonus Burn Card indicator.

Rematch Burn Card
This is now disabled for use in Last Titan Standing.
Decreased the amount of time between using the card and respawning.

Weapon Burn Card Cancelled
The “Burn Card Cancelled” message has been modified to indicate if the killed player was actively wielding an amped weapon at the time of their death.

Burn Card Overflow Protection
You will no longer earn Burn Cards from kills if your total deck size has fewer than 16 free slots. You will still earn Burn Cards for all other activities such as completing challenges or successfully evacuating. This is to protect against excessive Burn Card overflow.

Voice Over
Toned down frequency of VO that tells you if the score lead has increased or decreased.

Minimap Alert
Shots fired without silencers will now make you appear on the minimap of all enemy players. Previously this was only up to a distance of 4000 units.

Bug Fixes (All Platforms)

Fixed artifacts due to interactions between Titan shields and particles.
Made challenge descriptions easier to read in the challenges menu.
Fixed some missing or incorrect data in the last game summary menu after playing in a private match

Gameplay:
Fix unsilenced Smart Pistols never showing up on the minimap.
Fixed a bug where the Extra Dash Burn Card could remove the Big Punch mod from Titans.
Fixed a bug where Gen10 players using Roll the Dice with a full Burn Card deck could overflow their available space.
Fixed minor variance in Titan shield regeneration time.
Fixed a bug where you could change your Titan’s loadout in the middle of its life, if your Pilot had just respawned.
Fixed a few cases where Titans could fly further than expected.
Fix view pop when rodeo-ing a Titan that then gets embarked.
Fixed a rare case where a neck snap might not neck snap.
Fixed getting under the map in Nexus due to nuclear eject.
Fixed rodeo animations getting cancelled suddenly due to a player embarking into his Titan.
Fixed Titan warnings for incoming hostile Titanfall and getting rodeoed not playing sometimes.
Fixed timer-to-next-Titan sometimes not displaying after respawning.
Fixed cases of missing attacker kill credit. When a Pilot suicides, if enemy player damaged them recently, that player now gets kill credit.

UI:
Fixed refractive effects in VDU.
Fixed menu navigation issues when level 50 in the challenges menu
The next map images in lobbies will properly clear when going in between menus.
Fixed a bug where your loadouts would look unchanged after editing a custom loadout.

Performance:
Frame hitch when Pilot connects or disconnects.

Bug Fixes (X1)
Fixed hitch when connecting to server.
Fixed hitch when other players connect or disconnect.

Avengers Age of Ultron first teaser trailer first impressions

1

The first teaser trailer for Marvel’s Avengers Age of Ultron has hit the web and this one is going to be a blockbuster of super hero proportion. The heroes teams up yet again for an enemy that can not faced alone but does conflict arise within them as we mildly saw in the first movie?

To give you an update on everything so far the next big movie after this will be Captain America 3 which is seeing one of two names to light “Civil War” or “Fallen Son” both of which are intricate stories in the Marvel timeline. The stories on the web seem to lean towards Civil War, more so that Robert Downy Jr. seems to be close to a deal to be a bigger part of Captain America 3 then once thought. The Civil War story is the division of Marvel Heroes that willing registered themselves as heroes to the US government while others felt it would endanger their lives. Tony Stark (Iron Man) was for this and Captain America was opposed it causing a rift between heroes.

If in this direction would seem to also indicate that the Marvel movies within this story line will also get darker and possibly turned beloved heroes into anti-heroes. Time will tell but we’re ready for whatever Marvel throws at us.

Forza Horizon 2 review: Field of its own

0

Never have I seen a new franchise that spawned from an already successful racer have the dedication and care that Forza Horizon 2 has. The level of detail throughout the entire game is something to take note of and admire. From the dynamic weather effects, seamless interaction between its offline/online and steady frame rate traversing through its open world is a real sight to see.

Right out of the gate Forza Horizon 2 takes everything it did from the last game, elements from Forza 5 and mashed it into one. Giving you a much bigger, smoother and jammed packed game. The game takes place in Europe northern Italy, and some areas you traverse around are France and Nice. While it’s not the exact size it is however quite large and much larger then the piece of Colorado from the previous game. Horizon Festival is the main event which is going on there and has pretty much taken over the area to give you races , new events like the bucket list which is taking certain vehicles and completing goals among other things.
forzahorizon2-243213
While their is a lot of open road, grass fields and hill type areas along side the city/towns their is just so much more to do here. The detail in Vespa’s/Scooters, street lamps, groves, barns are only a fraction. A big request from the previous game was dynamic weather and when it rains it pours. Water on the pavement, droplets on the car and headlights turned up to see as much of the road as possible. Our small and only complaint here is that rain in some areas like your windshield seem to be static as going from 0-100 has no affect on its physics. Night time driving here isn’t new but it looks so much better this time around. Reflective lights from posts and tunnels have a real shine to them as well.

The 200+ cars in this game are all unique from its sounds to its movements. The engine roaring and the inside car view for every car in game, not as surprising for the series but should be noted as a whole. Engine upgrades and tuning ones vehicle is readily available for those that want their car to be to their liking. Forza has always been known to have quality in its cars from top to bottom and this doesn’t disappoint.

The online connectivity of the game is where it really shines since it takes one of Forza 5’s most well known feature, Drivatar which is AI racers/cars based on friends from your list to drive against. The system worked quite well in Forza 5, making recreations of how players acted and putting that data into the the AI racers. In this game all computer controlled racers in the street are now taken over by these Drivatars which is much better then regular AI opponents. While it works similar and were even impressed by the fact the level of the actual player is along side their names when the drivatars are driving around we can’t help but be distracted by the constant change in cars they have or population in friends that don’t have the game at all. This is probably done as fillers to give you a broader list of people to see while driving but would like to contain the list to only people that have played the game.
ForzaHorizon2-incar-323
The multiplayer is quite possibly the most seamless transition in any racing game without it constantly being online of course. Going from solo to a multiplayer session or free roam happens in a matter of seconds. Their are many options of play to explore. Besides the competitive modes themselves you now have the ability to have car meets, take road trips to each event race and much more. This is all on top of the actual co-op races that are added like bucket list . One of our favorite things is the ability to have a smaller session like bucket list challenges when others are having an event race in the online free-roam. While you can’t make separate event races this is a pretty big step in doing other things split across multiple people while in an online area.

Every element of the new franchise is improved upon which is quite impressive considering its size and amount going on at once. Menu’s are slick, gameplay is refined and graphically gorgeous at every turn. The original Forza Horizon was one of our favorite racing games of last gen and this one steps it up a notch. Playground Games has a real hit on their hands has been only making things better. Where the next one could go? Has us all the more excited for this thriving franchise.

It Doesn’t Pay to Be a Nice Guy – U2’s Songs of Innocence album Review

0

First off, I will start by saying that I am not a huge U2 fan boy.  I enjoy their singles, as well as a few select songs off their albums, but I never saw them live, and I don’t know the words to all of their songs.  On the flipside, I am not one of those un-justified U2 haters; relentlessly bashing U2, Bono especially, for being self-righteous or for turning into the “New Nickleback.”  Recently, Bono issued an apology for doing something that most musicians would never think of doing: releasing their album for free.

By now, everyone has heard of the controversial decision for Apple to partner with U2 and release the album, Songs of Innocence, making it available exclusive for iTunes, iTunes Radio and Beats Music for free.  How dare they?!?!  Forcing their album on us iTunes listeners like that!!  This is blasphemy!!!  If you haven’t figured out by now, I’m being entirely sarcastic.  This just further proves that no matter what you do, how well you do it, or how pure your intentions are, there are still going be people who are pissed off.

Here’s what I don’t understand, if you don’t want the album, don’t download it.  Yes, it was automatically added into your iTunes library, but you still needed to physically click download to get the album.  If you didn’t want it, then just ignore it.  People are saying that U2 is the “New Nickleback” because they are being forced down everyone’s throats.  Well, here are some counterpoints; Songs of Innocence is U2’s first studio album in almost 6 years, so it’s not like they’re oversaturating the market. Their song was featured in a commercial to promote the album release; last time I checked, that’s pretty common. Bono is constantly in the media; yes, for his constant charity work and being a spokesperson for multiple world organizations.

The real problem with all of the negativity is that it dampens the fact that Songs of Innocence was a pretty good album.  Their first single, “The Miracle (of Joey Ramone)” features the band playing tribute to their musical inspirations Ramones and The Clash.  With a catchy hook and a heavy distorted guitar riff (think Revolution by The Beatles), “The Miracle” revisits sounds similar past hits “Vertigo” or “Elevation.”  Mixed with the upbeat songs like “The Miracle” and “Raised By Wolves” are more personal, intimate songs like “The Troubles” and “Song for Someone.”

Over the span of their 38 year career, U2 has evolved their sound with each album.  Some people have a preference to which “U2 Sound” they prefer.  For the fans that prefer the sound of early U2, like on The Joshua Tree or War, there are some tracks on this album that share a similar smooth, melodic feel that compliment “With or Without You” or “Sunday Bloody Sunday.”

Overall, this is a very solid album for U2; with a mixture of old and new sounds to pay homage to the past.  It is unfortunate that it was surrounded in such a negative light due to the Apple release, but on the flip side, it did reach a lot of people (26 million people downloaded the full album).  So to all of the music fans out there, don’t be hater and scoff at U2 because it’s the new cool thing to do.  Give the album a listen; you may just have your mind changed.

WWE 2K15: What We Know/What We Want

FINALLY……

A single word, not holding much meaning, unless, of course, you are a fan of World Wrestling Entertainment.  The WWE is based on telling complex stories with intricate characters, with sprinkles of surprises (some good, some bad).  On Monday, October 6th, on Monday Night Raw in Brooklyn, NY (I was there), the big, bad Russian heel, Rusev, called out Big Show and started laying into how crappy America is.  Rusev was met with a sea of boos as Big Show never came out and Rusev began to gloat.  And then, the music hit.  “IF YA SMELLLLL, WHAT THE ROCK, IS COOKIN.”  The arena erupted.  The Rock had been missing from action since WrestleMania 29 (I was there for that too), when he tore his abdominal muscles facing John Cena.  Many people have been long awaiting The Rock’s return, some younger fans really didn’t know who he was, and others simply forgot to remember that they wanted him there.  The same can be said about WWE 2k15.

wwe2k15
With 2K Sports now 100% behind the franchise, and having a full year to develop a game, the initial news and announcements about the features of the game were pretty basic; updated rosters (as in with all sports games), completely overhauled graphics (thanks to the next-gen systems), and a single-player mode to rival WWE 14’s “30 Years of WrestleMania” mode. Unlike the NFL, NBA, or NHL, the WWE actively promoted this game: from making a cover-reveal ceremony for John Cena on Raw a few months ago, to having a star-studded panel of wrestlers, active and legends, to announce the roster for the new game, which they showed on the WWE Network for only $9.99/month (you can thank me later Vince.)  What people didn’t know while watching the roster reveal, was that they would announce something that many wrestling gamers have been waiting for for a long time; 2k My Career Mode.

What We Know

WWE 2k15 is set to release on 10/28/14 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and 11/18/14 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4.  Here are some of the things we know about the new title, as well as some of the things we are hoping for:

Pre Order Exclusive

WWE announced, with help of an amazing commercial, that WCW legend and Icon, STING will be an exclusive pre-order character.  WWE had great success with last year’s pre-order exclusive character “Ultimate Warrior,” but this is a game changer.  Every wrestling fan knows that Sting was loyal to WCW, and never once stepped foot into a WWF/WWE ring.  Having signed a WWE Legends contract, WWE is now able to use him whichever way they can.  Having him as an exclusive pre-order will guarantee huge pre-order figures.

2K Showcase Mode

This single-player mode looks to be the successor to the 30 Years of WrestleMania mode that had great success last year.  Showcase mode will differ in the fact that it will feature 2 rivalries that you can re-enact: HHH vs. Shawn Michaels (2002-2004) and CM Punk vs. John Cena (2011-2013).  Along with being able to play these moments in history, there will be video packages, WWE footage, cinematic cut scenes, and even WWE Superstar commentary.  This will most likely be more focused than the 30YWM mode, which could mean more details to how each rivalry unfolded.

2673884-wwe2k15_career2
MyCareer Mode

In my opinion, this is the biggest “oh by the way announcement” I can remember for this franchise.  WWE 2k15 will feature a MyCareer mode.  2K had great success with the MyCareer mode in their NBA franchise, so it only made sense that they incorporate it into their WWE franchise.  The general idea of having a career mode in a WWE game is awesome as it is, but once more details were released about this mode, people started getting very excited.  Here is what we know far about MyCareer Mode:

  • Users will create a player from scratch in a very in-depth customization suite.
  • Your wrestler will train with Bill DeMott in the WWE Performance Center, doing a series of objectives that will eventually lead to a roster spot on NXT.
    • Several NXT Superstars have been added to the roster, including: Sami Zayn, Rusev, Bo Dallas, Adrian Neville, and Corey Graves
  • Once your wrestler hones his skills in NXT, he will get a call to join the WWE main roster.  Vickie Guerrero acts as the General Manager and will set matches and objectives that will shape your wrestler’s career.
  • Over the course of your career, ever decision can affect your career.  You can form alliances and rivalries, compete for titles, and even jump from heel to face, all while upgrading your wrestler’s attributes and unlocking new abilities, moves and attire.

MyCareer Invasion

A blockbuster announcement was made regarding MyCareer mode with the addition of Career Invasion.  This will allow gamers to import their friends’ created wrestlers into their own single-player career.  You will be able to import up to 5 of your friend’s characters.  The best part, once they’re imported into your career, you don’t know when or how they’ll come into play.  For example, you could win a title at a huge pay per view, only to have your friend’s character show up and lay you out, or come in for a save when you’re getting your ass kicked.  This could revolutionize how single-player modes in sports games are played.  Can you imagine if your friend’s Center could be poster-ized by your Power Forward in NBA?  With the incorporation of the Invasion feature in MyCareer mode, as well as the many career paths you can take your character, the single-player replay value has never been higher for a sports game.

Season Pass

An announcement was just recently made regarding a Season Pass for WWE 2k15 for downloadable content.  Last year’s title had a decent amount of DLC; 19 wrestlers, 30 new moves and new creation parts.  This year is offering another Season Pass, which GameStop is listing at $24.99, which will include the exclusive character, Paige. One major DLC that will become available in the Season Pass will be additional rivalries to play in 2k Showcase mode.

What We Want

Improved Commentary

Anyone who has played WWE games in the past, know how quickly the commentary gets repetitive.  Rumor has it that the announce team has put in a lot of extra time and work to limit the repetition of commentary.  This doesn’t really affect the gameplay all too much, but it would make it a lot less annoying.

Improved Collision Physics

Sports games are taking full advantage of the next-gen consoles with their graphics, and WWE already is showing the same promise, but where the other games like Madden or NHL have shown great increases was the collision physics of characters.  I understand that with wrestling being a very contact-driven sport, that the collision physics are harder to duplicate realistically compared to a football tackle or a hockey check.  But with the next-gen systems, and showing that other sports franchises have shown it’s possible, I would love to see a big leap of realism.

Large Selection of DLC

While we have the information of some of the DLC that will be available, it would be nice to see a large selection of additional materials.  Downloadable characters will be huge to keep the roster fresh and updated, although I would not be opposed to having some legends available for download either.

All in all, WWE and 2K have the potential to be a ground-breaking, blockbuster of a sports franchise tag-team (see what I did there?) The pieces are all in order; let’s just hope that they can deliver.

HYPE METER: 9/10

Dragon Con 2014 report

1

Dragon Con 2014 was truly a sight to see. Not only was it our first time at the event but is also one of the biggest celebration for cos-play, multi-media and fantasy. The convention is nearly spanning 30 years and it only seems to get bigger and bigger with an attendance of over 60,000 people this year. We had many questions and expectations but we thought Dragon Con succeeded in most places.
pic1

Tons of guest stars, costumes and merchant booths were there. The Con spanned across 5 connecting hotels, all of which were crowded at all times with attendees. Each hotel had different things to experience like merchants, art, celebs, music, and much more. There is said to be 3500 hours of panels, workshops, gaming, film festivals and the parade down Peachtree which we witnessed as well.

The night life of Dragon Con is also where the convention shines and without question has the most amount of people in costume we’ve seen in any con at one time. People come from all over to enjoy the festivities going on across the hotels, going to parties, taking pictures and let loose.
pic2
So much is going on and while the convention is three days long you can’t help but notice it is done in an instant. Dragon Con seems to be more about the people which is a good thing. Our overall experience was a good one this year and feel like we’ve only scratched the surface of what this Con has to offer.

CE Week NY roundup part 2: Speakers and sound systems

Speakers and sound systems were bigger then ever at CE Week NY. With some using newer wireless technology, to sound systems bringing a whole new experience to the table, we run through some of our favorites on the show floor that’ll have your music and games sounding great.

Korus
Korus Sound Systems had big sounds in a relatively small package. Their V600 Premium Wireless Home Speaker can deliver high quality audio wirelessly through their dongle that plug and plays with multiple devices. If you have an iPhone the best part is that the occupied port for charging has an external slot on the wireless transmitters to connect a charger for zero disturbance. Setting these up in different rooms allows you to connect the same sound through the whole house or different tunes.

Heos
The HEOS by Denon was one of the most powerful speakers we’ve seen on the show floor. Denon has years of experience in speakers and receivers so it’s no surprise that the quality of sound coming out of these speakers were pretty rich. If that wasn’t enough they sport wireless technology over wifi. All you have to do is set one, two, three or well over a dozen up to your wifi network for a big stage sound or moods for each room your occupying.

Pioneer
Pioneer brought what’s to be the future of home theater sound. Their new Elite Home Theater system by Kyle Andrews sports new speaker channels that point to the ceiling. This is all for the newest audio format known as Dolby Atmos. What Dolby Atmos does is give you an atmospheric sound experience so that sound comes from above as well as through you. We got a chance to check this out in their sound room and from the little that was played they’re on to something. A rainy scene sounded like the drops were coming from above as well as around. What the Elite speakers do is not only give you sound to you but it will also send sound above to bounce all the ceiling and come down to fill the room to appear as though their is sound from all over.

It should be noted that this can only be achieved through Dolby Atmos compatible receivers which Pioneer is also ready for. Their Elite SC-89, SC-87 and SC-85 Elite receivers will either have Dolby Atmos built in or will be upgradable by the end of the year, not to mention its other features including 4k passthrough, HDMI 2.0 and up conversion.

Libratone
If we know one thing about aesthetic and home decor and it’s that Libratone seems to want to merge it with their wireless speaker line. It’s easily the most stylish speaker going with any setting of the household. Libratone had their whole line on display from the Loop, Live, Zipp and Lounge. All their speakers feature quick wireless access, airplay, DLNA and interchangeable covers. These have great sound which you might not expect but can also turn heads too.

Velodyne
The MiniVee Subwoofer and headphones were on display sporting a new look. Velodyne has gone to the pleasure of creating new skins for their line of products. Leather wrapping for the subwoofer while the headphone had designer made skins that go over them relatively easy. While we didn’t get a chance to hear anything we do know Velodyne has been in the business a long time and is one of the leaders in subwoofer territory.

Rocki
While not an actual speaker or headphone maker, they can turn any product with an AUX-in into a wireless speaker. Simply connect it and connect your device where you want the music to stream from through the wifi. It’s pretty easy to do and has a little flare to it as well.
