Killer Instinct Season 2 to double character roster

1

In a recent interview with newly appointed Killer Instinct developer, the makers of Dive Kick have showed off their first fighter TJ Combo known from the original Killer Instinct games. He also revealed how many characters would be in the season itself. 8 fighters will be in Season 2 for Killer Instinct which starts this fall for Xbox One. This doubles the amount of fighters in the game once complete and dare I say it will feel a lot more like a complete game. Killer Instinct was a critical success when released last year but with the method of being able to pay for fighters or full pack was also something new to Microsoft. We’ll be revealing fighters as we get word so stay tuned!

LVLONE E3’14 EA roundup: Next Mass Effect, Madden 15, Mirrors Edge and more

EA games have stepped up their games at E3 this year. From bringing nostalgia from the original set pieces of Star Wars: Battle Front to emulating legends like Bruce Lee, EA has set the bar high for themselves. Here’s a quick round up to what they have in store for 2014 and beyond.

PROTOTYPES AND EARLY LOOKS
Star Wars Battlefront has been in development by DICE. Apparently everything from the original scenery, landscapes, and models have been scanned and re-imagined into CG to fill the battle grounds of the new game. Not much info  was released about it but more information is on the way in 2015.

Bioware (Mass Effect) hasn’t really said much about what they plan on releasing in the new Mass Effect but they did tell us that they are working on something new. The worlds and universe will be nothing like we’ve really experienced. They’re making a world that is ever changing and a world that will be around for generations.

EA Sports PGA Tour will be “Golf without limits”. Using the Frostbite 3 engine there’ll be no load times between holes and the ability to explore the entire golf course anything is possible. Play a regular course or play a fantasy course, including courses with battleships. Due out Spring 2015

Dawngate has been an active developing MOBA. The developers have been working hard to bring together players to build this MOBA from the ground up and to give their characters in the game their own personalities and stories all dependent on how their teams are formed.

Criterion Games are exploring new venues and new vehicles. They’ve been known for the Burnout franchise, but where do you go from speed, cars, and crashes? Why not everything else? ATV’s, helicopters, wing suits, and snow mobiles are just some of the new rides to whip around all different types of terrain. The new IP doesn’t have a name yet but keep you eyes and ears peeled.

Mirrors Edge 2 will bring new moves and new experiences to Faith. Faith’s combat skills have been expanded to give her more character on how runners are to act and react. No news on when it’s being released but from what was shown, Mirrors Edge 2 will not be a let down.

SET FOR THIS YEAR
The Sims 4 will be bringing players not just personality but emotion. Players will now be able to see how their Sims are feeling through facial emotions and body language. Your Sims will now be affected by each other’s emotional status and personalities. Also players will also be able to import other players from the gallery.  Due out September 2nd
ts4-e3-14

Dragon Age Inquisition will be a team based game where you can control combat from 3rd person or top down tactical camera where time is removed from the battlefield. Players will be able to control four different types of characters that each have their own stories to unfold and discover. Due out October 7th

EA Sports UFC has evolved from what it once was and to talk about the world of mixed martial arts there is no doubt in my mind Bruce Lee will always be mentioned.  Bruce Lee has already been announced as a playable character when you pre-0rder UFC. Playing as Bruce Lee is not just something I myself would love to do but to see him actually fight against todays mixed martial artists is another story. Keep your eyes open since EA Sports UFC is due out June 17th.

EA Sports NHL15 has seen it’s up and downs, but to pump up the hype the developers have given all the players on the ice and even the puck real physics. Also the stadiums have been done in great detail to give their fans something to really connect with. September 9th of this year.

EA Sports Madden NFL15 has brought defense to the game in new ways. With different ways to hit and penetrate the offensive line it’s going to make playing the defensive side of football a little more interesting and enjoyable. Also the players will be more detailed from tattoos, facial emotion, and celebration dances. Due out August 26th

EA Sports Fifa15 has given more detail to man to man defense, player interaction, and ball physics. Every push, dig, and slide will show in the game and on the players. The field is alive and will react to players’ movements and actions and that’s including the fans in the stadium. Due out September 23

Battlefield Hardline is today’s cops and robbers. Think the movie Heat in game form. Everything from real physics, vehicles, open battles, and intense action is packaged in this game. Hardline will be a tactical team based game just like how all the Battlefield games have been. Whether you’re on the criminal side or the the side of the law there will be intense action and tons of replayability. Currently the closed Beta is live. Due out October 21st

Fable Legends, while not looking likely to come out this year did show off some impressive 4 player co-op gameplay and will be releasing a beta this fall.

Project Spark will see an official release this fall. It also teased DLC packs, one on stage was “Galaxies” which looks quite similar to Star Wars. Rare’s character Conker will also be in the game as well in some form, the mascot hasn’t appeared in a game in 10 years apparently as well.

Halo the Master Chief Collection which includes Halo 1, 2, 3, 4 will be available on November 11th for Xbox One. Halo 2 will get the Anniversary edition treatment like Halo 1 with updated graphics and cutscenes but all games will be 1080p, 60FPS. Halo 5 was also teased as a multiplayer beta will be coming out this December.

The dev team that brought you Limbo is hard at work on their next title named Inside which has a similar feel to Limbo. The will be exclusive to Xbox One when it releases in 2015.

Killer Instinct was a great return to the series last year and was very much talked about after last years press conference. Microsoft has announced that Season 2 will start this fall and a teaser trailer has come out with first up Combo seeing a return. That’s not all, they are following the same vision of bringing back a classic and is doing so with Phantom Dust exclusively for Xbox One.

Platinum Games best known for the Bayonetta series are working on their first next gen title, Scalebound which will be coming exclusively to Xbox One. The game’s trailer was filled with huge monsters and the protagonist sporting Beats like headphones and a big sword. No word on release or gameplay but we’ll be keeping an eye out during the week.

OUR Microsoft PICK
People have been asking for this game for sometime and some even believed this was to be announced last E3 but obviously didn’t happen. that’s why when a new Crackdown was announced for Xbox One it made it all the sweeter. Focusing on a 4 player emphasis it looks to be much grander then any Crackdown before it.

Check out LVLONE for everything E3 2014. Be sure to subscribe to get all this news first. Check out the Microsoft E3 Montage below to not miss a beat of what was shown and what’s to come.

LVLONE Weekly Roundup: Forza Horizon 2, new Homefront, Mortal Kombat X announced, game delays and more

Only days away from next weeks big gaming event E3 and we’re having all sorts of gaming bits coming from ever corner. Their could not have been more announcements and trailers for a week before an actual event but some games also suffered some delays as well, here’s the rundown!

ANNOUNCEMENTS
Forza Horizon 2 was announced earlier this week by Microsoft and is being helmed by the studio that gave you the first installment for Xbox One while the Xbox 360 version will be by Sumo Digital. The big game changers this time around for the Xbox One version will the use of the Forza 5 engine as a base line which means a huge increase in graphical goodness and things like the drive-avater system being in full effect. We’ve also learned that the game will sport 1080p, have hundreds of cars, have real time weather effects and now be in an all new setting, Southern Europe. Expect the game out this fall and for more info along with gameplay to drop next week at Microsoft’s press conference.

Warner bros and NetherRealm’s have announced Mortal Kombat X with an official teaser trailer that is shown below. The game will be released in 2015 for PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. Not much information has been shared except a huge focus on online well be the forefront of this game but we’ll be sure to see and here more next week at E3.

Homefront: The Revolution was announced this week which is being developed by Crytek and published by Deep Silver. Many weren’t sure what was to come after the games IP was put up for auction from THQ when they folded and it looks like they’ve made good on their investment. The game is scheduled to be released for PS4 Xbox One and PC in 2015. Check out the teaser below and be sure to check us out during E3 for more on the game.

On the shorter end of the list Crytek has announced another free-to-play game called Hun: Horrors of the Gilded Age which focuses on co-op play aka Left 4 Dead and will be released by fall of 2014. A game that we found most enjoyable Costume Quest will see a sequel this Halloween for PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, Xbox 360, PS3, Windows PC, Mac and Linux. It will feature returning characters and giant transforming costumes of the sorts. Already releasing on PS4 Awesomenauts Assemble will be heading to Xbox One as well

NEW RELEASE DATES
Publisher CD Projekt RED has revealed that the Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt will be officially released on February 24th, 2015. They have gone as far as to release a gameplay trailer which looks incredible! The game will be released for PS4, Xbox One and PS4.

Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel will be releasing on 14th October, this year for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. This game should serve as the in-between for Borderlands 2 and 3 (not announced). They’ve gone on record as to why the game didn’t see a next gen release but still can’t help but feel a little disappointed, still for the Borderland fanatics will be able to get their fix in the fall.

DELAYED
Batman: Arkham Knight which had received a new gameplay (visual) trailer a few weeks back has now seen a delay to 2015. The game which is looking quite well we might add seems to need more time to get the large scale city at its peak. The game will still be shown at E3 so not to give up on it just yet.

PICK OF THE WEEK
This weeks pick of the week is the addition of Xbox’s Games with Gold program extending to Xbox One. The platform was released last year E3 as a competitor to PS Plus’s free games. Each month will see two game releases which are free with those who are Xbox Live Gold Members. The first games are Max Curse of the Brotherhood and Halo Spartan Assault. Telltale to Release The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us on Consoles

Today Telltale has confirmed the release of both The Walking Dead series and The Wolf Among us to Playstation 4 and Xbox One later on this year. Even though the series have been doing very well as downloadable content Telltale has also decided to release both series on disc for what reason I have no idea why. If you are interested in the disc format the games are currently available to pre-order. No confirmed date on when it’s being released yet but I have a pretty good feeling it’ll be very soon.

LVLONE Weekly Roundup: The Evil Within gets release date, Battlefield Hardline announced, Quantum Break delayed and more.

Welcome to another LVLONE Weekly roundup where we give you the best gaming highlights. This week we have a semi-game announcement, new game release dates, game delays and what would we be without our pick of the week.

New release dates
Looks like the release date for The Evil Within has be revealed. The game will be available in the US on October 21, in Australia on October 23, and throughout Europe on October 24 of this year for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4. The game needed more time to balance and to be refined in order to delver a terrifying experience of pure survival horror. Their are also pre-order incentives as well, the Fighting Chance Pack provides players with a handful of additional items that may help them stave off death for a moment longer.
the-evil-within-release-date

Announcement
Earlier in the week a new Battlefield had been leaked from assets that came from EA’s official site but was then confirmed by the company. Battlefield Hardline is not being entirely developed by DICE but rather Visceral Games as well, makers of Dead Space. The game takes on the urban warfare roles with cops, robbers, common criminals etc. They will be providing more detail on the game at their press conference during E3 week but for now check out this 7minute video of the game which is said to be of an earlier build.

Delays
Remedy, the developers of Quantum Break have said to not expect the game until 2015. They are looking to bring the full entertainment experience like nothing you’ve seen before and while some would assume the game will show it’s face at E3 it will make its real debut at Gamescon in August. You can check out the teaser with a glimpse of what’s to come.

We’re no stranger to PS4 game delays at this point but here comes another one. Looks like PS4 exclusive The Order 1886 has been delayed and will now be released in Early 2015, developer Ready at Dawn has announced. The developer has noted that it needed the time to work out technical issues along with getting the game right. We haven’t seen much of the game to begin with but what we have seen is gorgeous and eerily resembles Gears of War mechanics. Expect to see more of the game at E3 in the coming weeks.

Pick of the Week
While this actually came out last week it would be hard to not get this out there. Ubisoft partnered with Smoshs Youtube and Rob Dyrdek for a promotional Watch Dogs video. If you’ve wondered what Aiden Pearces smartphone that he uses in the game is like, it might go a little something like the video shown, although we’re not sure if Rob Dyrdek is the first person you’d want to give it too.

Stay tuned for next weeks roundup as we’ll only be days away from E3 at that point and you can get all the coverage here!

LVLONE Weekly Roundup: Batman: Arkham Knight Gameplay, Evolve, Minecraft Xbox One release date and more

Here is another LVLONE Weekly game roundup with several gameplay reveals and launch dates.

Gameplay Reveal
Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment debuted the first gameplay trailer from Batman: Arkham Knight. The official gameplay reveal showcases the graphical prow less of next gen and the return to some faces like Scarecrow which seeks to unite the Rogues Gallery and takedown Batman. The game is set after the events of Arkham City and is said to be 5 times larger then that game. The game is set to release for Xbox One, PS4 and PC on October 14th of this year.

Evolve-New-Ps4-gameplay
New Release Date
2K Games announced this week that their multiplayer shooter Evolve which takes a heavy emphasis on Left 4 Dead will be released to the masses on October 21st. The game will require team based actions to take down creatures on unknown islands. We’ll be sure to hear about this game in the coming weeks as E3 will take place. Evolve will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC simultaneously.

minecraft-xbox-one
After being announced not only for Xbox One but PS4 Minecraft for those consoles finally has a release date. The game will launch on Xbox One and PS4 in August, Set to cost $19.99 but those who own the retail version of Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition will be able to upgrade to the new game for $4.99 on Xbox One. This is said to be five times larger then the current gen version and if that wasn’t enough saves will be able to be transferred over from the 360 version to the Xbox One version as well.

Pick of the Week
Amplitude was a beloved game near and dear to even myself and was released for the PS2. This was the second game created by Harmonix and sequel to Frequency. Much of what Rockband is comes from what Amplitude was and the company wanted to get back to their roots. They had made a Kickstarter to see the game come to light but has of recent already passed their goal funding. It goal was set to $775,000 with a second goal to include multiplayer online head to head if they surpassed $1,125,000 but didn’t make it. They have already secured artists that supported the original game and will be releasing the game next year on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.

LVLONE Weekly Roundup: Farcry 4 announced, Kinect-less Xbox One, Halo 5! Mario Brothers Game of Thrones? and more.

Welcome to another LVLONE weekly news roundup. Lots happened this week with several game announcements, release dates, game delays and big changes to one of the big three companies services and model.

Diablo-3-Reaper-of-Souls-next-gen
New Release Date
Reaper of Souls expansion for Diablo III has finally got a release date for consoles. Blizzard has confirmed Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition will be released on PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 on August 19. The complete package dubbed Ultimate Evil Edition will allow PS3 and Xbox 360 characters to transfer to PS4 and Xbox One to continue their` progress. The game will be $39.99 for current gen while being $59.99 for next gen consoles.

Breaking
Microsoft has announced that they will be selling a version of the Xbox One that will not include the Kinect. This version will be released on June 9th and will retail for $399. They have said that this was to offer gamers more choices and is direct feedback from the fans.

That’s not all from the Microsoft camp as they will now allow non-gold members to access apps like Netflix and HBO Go which owners needed a membership to view. Games with Gold which had only be for the Xbox 360 will now extend to Xbox One as well. The first set of games in June ail be Max Curse of the Brother Hood and Halo Assualt.

Delayed
The Devision has been delayed to 2015. This isn’t really a surprise to anyone as the developers to the game said a 2014 release date was laughable and some even question a 2015 release as the game is still very early in development.

FarCry4-Hero-jpg
Announcement
Farcry 4 is was announced yesterday for Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, Xbox One and PC to be released November 18th. This is will be a much bigger and grander game then Farcry 3 both in scope and elements. Those who pre-order the game will receive a free upgrade to the Limited Edition which includes Hurk’s Redemption, a series of three action-packed single-player missions featuring Hurk from Far Cry 3’s DLC. The Limited Edition also includes Hurk’s signature harpoon gun called “The Impaler”.

Hero_Halo5-guardians
Annoucement
What could only be a surprise to many is the announcement for the long anticipated sequel to the Halo series. Halo 5 Guardians will continue the Master Chief saga and judging by the cover it may be looking like he will somehow inquire a new suit in the Forrunner style. The game is set to release fall of 2015 and we think an announcement this early can me one of a couple of things but maybe it’s not only to show gameplay during Microsofts E3 presentation but possibly get more hype surrounding a possible Halo 2 anniversary for this year?

Pick of the Week
Lastly we close out with something we thought was truly awesome this week. Someone by the Youtube handle of NicksplosionFX has made the entirety of the Game of Thrones intro into with Super Mario Worlds. No end product is not only something we’d want to see in real life but would much rather watch that then the actual show, not trying to take anything away from the show but this is pretty epic. Watch it above.

Let us know what you think of this weeks updates and your thoughts on Xbox One’s change of Kinect-less console and all other announcements.
