Apache: Air Assault Announcement

0

Activision announced today that Apache: Air Assault will be released this fall for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Developed by Gaijin Entertainment, Apache: Air Assault is a modern combat flight simulation game where players control a variety of lethal Apache attack helicopters outfitted with cutting-edge military weaponry. The goal is to prevent terrorist attacks by raining down destruction from above in the world’s most volatile warzones.

Apache: Air Assault features more than 16 multi-stage missions involving air and ground strike operations off the coast of Africa, the mountains of the Middle East and the jungles of Central America, each meticulously created using high resolution map data from real-world satellite photography. Apache helicopters are some of the most sophisticated combat aircraft on the planet. Players get a chance to fly multiple variations of them, each with their own extreme firepower and highly-detailed damage modeling. The game can be played based on the player’s tastes – Arcade Mode allows players to easily pick up the controls and jump right into the combat. The Realistic mode showcases the real depth of the title, where the dedication to realism and precision shines through. The local Co-op Campaign Mode lets two players team up in the same Apache with one as the pilot and the other as the co-pilot in a joint effort for a truly authentic combat flight experience. For those that want to go even further, Apache: Air Assault includes competitive online multiplayer matches such as Team Deathmatch, Ground Attack, Capture the LZ, and Ground Strike.

Atomic Games Breach delayed

0

While the work for Breach is said to be done, Atomic Games seemed to have missed the window for their June release on Xbox Live. With a new release date of January 2011 the developers have said they will be now adding new content which otherwise wouldn’t make it. Unlike there previous game Six Days in Fallujah which was pulled out under the rug indefinitely by Konami, Breach will be published by themselves and will make its new release date. Breach will now be coming out simultaneously on Xbox LIVE Arcade for Xbox 360 and on Windows PC in January

Update: Brutal Legend 2 is a No No

0

Apparently during a panel discussion at Develop in Brighton, the head of Double Fine Productions and creator of one of the most rock hard games Brutal Legend, Tim Schaffer, commented about the possibility of a follow up game. Unfortunately talks of the game have fallen through and there will be no sequel to Jack Black’s journey throughout the world of metal, but that doesn’t mean that nothing is being developed. Instead of working on one large project with tons of money riding on it, Double Fine Production has decided to work on smaller projects where there is a little more freedom in developing games.

R.I.P 1 vs 100

1

After two successful seasons, “1 vs 100” on Xbox LIVE will not be returning for Season 3.

During the Beta season, more than 114,000 people played “1 vs 100” on Xbox LIVE simultaneously, setting an official Guinness world record for the most contestants in a game show. The “1 vs 100” team is now focusing their skills and applying the technology used to develop “1 vs 100” to new projects that will be unveiled in the future.

We guess the line up of other game shows to follow is pretty much a done deal with the … not so successful 1 vs 100. Here’s to hoping we get something in the works soon.
