Little Big Planet 2 Delayed

0

Even the biggest and best games get delayed, unfortunately Little Big Planet 2 is one of those games that will indeed be delayed until next year. Complains will come and go but with the amount of things being added to gameplay in Little Big Planet 2 I don’t think anyone will really mind too much about the delay. Atleast shipping a finished game rather than a game that is broken is always the better option, also it isn’t that much of a longer wait. The new set release date is aimed for January 2011, I guess they’re trying to get a new start on the new year with some new creative fun.

Curt Schilling of the Boston Red Sox will be moving his game studio, 38 Studios to the smallest state in the US, Rhode Island. Announced today, the studio has decided to move into the middle of the Renaissance city, Providence, at One Empire Plaza. Since the company will be in the center of Providence, not too far from Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design, and many other business and art oriented schools, the opportunity to hire fresh new faces to the industry will most likely be possible, that is if they are willing to hire.

Dead Rising 2: Case Zero Review

0

Dead Rising 2 has been in the works for quite some time and now with the game being about a month from coming out, the developers have decided to give fans of the series an early treat in the form of a downloadable mini prequel called Dead Rising 2: Case Zero. Many thought that Case Zero would simply just be a demo for the full game however Capcom has put in extra effort into the DLC to make sure that it’s much more than a demo.

Dead Rising 2 takes place in a town just outside of Las Vegas, the zombie outbreak from the first game is still plaguing the land, from this point players take control of Chuck who is the new hero of the sequel. Chuck is with his daughter who had previously been bitten by a zombie so one of the main focuses of Case Zero so to find Zombrex which is a medicine that keeps humans who have been bitten from becoming zombies. Chuck also has to find the proper parts to make a motorcycle so he and his daughter can escape the town. That is the basic storyline of Case Zero and it does a good enough job to create the beginnings of Chuck’s story.

One of the main features of Dead Rising 2 is the ability to combine weapons to create new ones. Once players pick up two weapons that can be combined an icon shows you that the two weapons can become a new stronger weapon. The combined weapons are a lot more stronger and a lot more fun to use. One of the main aspects that made Dead Rising fun is still hear, chopping down zombies in many different ways.

The graphics in Case Zero isn’t too bad but it doesn’t compare to the high end games that players have gotten used to, but it’s understandable considering the amount of characters on screen. There’s plenty of nice effects throughout the game but again it’s nothing that stands out a lot.

Aside from the main tasks Chuck has to do there are also a few side missions as well like finding survivors, which is a lot more easier and less annoying than the original game. Other than that there isn’t a lot more to do in the game other than taking out zombies which is very fun to begin with so as a downloadable game five dollars you’ll get plenty of value out the game.

If you’re really looking forward to Dead Rising 2 then it’s recommended you check out Case Zero, it acts as nice prequel to the game and you’ll get to play around with the new combined weapons. Even if you weren’t planning on getting Dead Rising 2 it still could be worth playing through considering the fact that it’s pretty cheap as far as DLC goes, and you might end up wanting to the get the full game because of it. Either way Case Zero is a worthy prequel to one of the bigger games this year.

Final Fantasy: DISSIDIA Sequel Coming Stateside

0

Square Enix has the intention of releasing Final Fantasy: DISSIDIA 012[duodecim] on the PSP, unfortunately they’re keeping the same name. What’s it mean? I have no clue, but I do know it means new characters to play, a new Chaos story mode, and a RPG styled battle mode. Final Fantasy: DISSDIA 012[duodecim] is set to release sometime in 2011, but I’m sure some fans are keeping their eyes and ears peeled about this game.

Playstation 3’s 3.50 Update Available

0

Yay another update! Sony has been rolling out with updates not just to keep hackers and home brewers at bay, but also to increase the system’s performance. The new update will add support for 3D blueray discs, better Facebook integration and communication of games, and the new player reporting system has been added in. If you ever get tired of little kids trash talking over Modern Warfare 2 or even just tired of getting players who are obnoxious for no reason, just flag’em and hopefully with enough complaints the guys from Sony will take care of the little bugger.

PS3 Eagle Eye Adapter Review

Tired of feeling like you aren’t lining up those headshots as accurate as you want? Are you a PC gamer finding it hard to adjust to dual analog sticks? Well then Penguin has the solution for you. They have created the Eagle Eye Adapter for the PS3 which will allow you to play with a USB keyboard and mouse directly into the console. The companies claim is that you will “Aim Better, Move Faster, and Ownage Never Comes Easier,” so is this true? Not without hiccups and wait times.

The Eagle Eye Adapter’s hub takes a bit of processing before you actual get to play with the device. Plug and Play this is not, you will first need to install the software from the disc they provide you with onto your PC. Depending on the operating system it may take a couple of tries to get the program up and running correctly. Once open all the keys of a USB keyboard and left/right clicks on a mouse can be configured onto the device on two separate key maps but the disc also provides a set for you. Once done you can now plug in the device on the PS3 for use in your game and thats it.

The games that this is actually intended for are FPS like Call of Duty but prepare to go back and forth on settings to get everything you want correctly. Changing the sensitivity in-game for the mouse, which takes control of the right analog stick is essential. We managed to play Modern Warfare 2 and KillZone 2 which offered different experiences. While COD: Modern Warfare 2 handled extraordinary at times, KillZone 2 seemed to move slow and we never fully got the hang of using it with the game. The perfect thing about the Eagle Eye Adapter is the fact that you get to place any button on any key you want for the ultimate setup. The adapter also sports turbo options for all the buttons for any kind of occasion you may have.

Their are a couple of things you might want to note down before claiming this as the ultimate FPS configuration for a console. First since you have to plug this into a computer before use, well you will need to actually have one, any new machine comes with a USB keyboard and mouse, while old machines won’t. Second if you only own Macs then this won’t work for you. If by chance you have Windows running on Bootcamp or Parallel Desktops it’ll only get you halfway since we’ve found that device will not read a USB keyboard or mouse from a Mac which is very strange. Third is most people don’t have an ideal setup for a mouse and keyboard in their gaming section, you will probably have to move some stuff around or get an extra table with a mouse pad handy to get this going.

So is the Eagle Eye Adapter for everyone? No. Does it work as advertised? For the most part. While there are quite a good amount of FPS’s on PS3, we all know that the PS3 controller is not optimal for FPS’s as it stands. Making this device king when equipped correctly. This will let players pull off shots and stunts they only imagined on a console. For $59.99 we think its a little pricey since we believe a quarter of those wanting the device will probably dig in their pockets a bit deeper for another new item they may need. However if your an active FPS player, you may not want to miss out on this.

Epic Mickey Due Out In November

0

Mickey being epic would have never crossed my mind, but for a character that’s been around longer than most things that I own it’s finally become apparent that being Mickey must be epic. I guess to celebrate the epicness that is Mickey, Disney has decided to release Epic Mickey. When? Well you’re in luck, the release date will be November 30 for North America just in time for the holiday season. A majority of Europe will get the game on the 25th, and in the UK the 26th. Something tells me Disney is aiming hard for Christmas sales.

4 Gig HDD+ Required for Halo Co-op

0

If a slap in the face from a red ring isn’t enough the guys at Bungie is giving you a kick in the butt. Apparently Xbox Slim users who only have the on board 4 gig memory and not the hard drive aren’t going to be able to play the co-op with your friends. I know, I know it sucks and you wanna cry and whine to one of the higher powers at Bungie and Microsoft about it but hey is it really their fault for you being the cheapo and not shelling out the few extra bucks to get Xbox with the hard drive in it. But fear not and wipe your tears away, Microsoft is already looking into a fix and hopefully will have the solution soon. Well that atleast it gives you time to play solo and hone your skills so you don’t look like a total noob.
