Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves – How the Beta 2 Test Took the Game to the Next Level

0

So here we are, just a month away from the official release of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on April 24, 2025, and let me tell you, the betas have been a big part of shaping how this game is gonna hit when it finally drops. The first Beta Test gave us a taste of what the game had to offer, but the Beta 2 Test, which ran from March 26 to March 31, 2025, really took things up a notch. It was clear that SNK listened to the feedback from the first test and used it to make some solid improvements. Let’s break down what changed and why the Beta 2 Test has us more hyped than ever.

The first Beta Test that took place in February 2025 definitely had its moments. We got to play with some familiar faces like Rock Howard, Terry Bogard, Mai Shiranui, and B. Jenet. There was some good stuff here, but the first test also highlighted a couple of things that needed work. For one, the character roster was a little light. It was a solid start, but fans were definitely hoping for more options. Also, the control schemes—while offering both Arcade Style and Smart Style—felt like they could use some fine-tuning. Arcade Style was solid for those of us who’ve been playing fighters for years, but the Smart Style was a bit too simple. It was clear that the game had potential, but there were definitely areas to refine.

And then, there was the lack of a Training Mode. If you’re like me and love to learn the ins and outs of a fighting game, this was a major downside. Not having a space to just mess around and practice without jumping straight into matches was a real letdown. Still, the core of the game felt promising—it was fast, flashy, and fun—but it needed some polish. Also, match making was quite an issue as I had to wait long for matches.

This second beta, which ran from March 26 to March 31, took the lessons learned from the first test and addressed those concerns head-on. Perhaps the most exciting addition in Beta 2 was the inclusion of Tizoc, aka Griffon Mask. This was a big deal. His addition not only expanded the lineup but also added a fresh fighting style to the mix. If you’re into grapplers, you’re gonna love Tizoc. He brings some serious flavor to the game, and it’s clear SNK wanted to make sure there was something for everyone to play with.

But the big win for Beta 2? Training Mode finally got added. Thank god. This was the most requested feature by far, and SNK knocked it out of the park. Now, you can get in there, practice your combos, figure out the nuances of each character, and really start to understand how the game works—without worrying about getting wrecked in an online match or arcade mode. The customizable dummy behavior and the option to adjust power gauge settings? Huge.

On top of that, they introduced Classic Versus Mode, a way to fight offline with friends or the CPU without relying on an internet connection. It’s a classic feature, but sometimes the simple things matter most. They also dropped new stages like “Street Stars” and “Universal Arena,” which not only look dope but really help add some variety to the locations you’re battling in. It’s nice to see some fresh visuals that really keep the game feeling new.

Of course, the gameplay itself got a little tune-up. The REV system (that’s the counterattack mechanic) got a balance tweak, which makes a big difference in how combat flows. Inputs were also smoothed out a bit, making things feel more responsive and consistent. That alone helps the game feel much more polished than it did in the first test. Match making felt the same as Beta 1, it took a while just to get some matches.

Honestly, Beta 2 feels like a game that’s coming together. SNK didn’t just throw in a few tweaks here and there—they really paid attention to what people wanted and made sure to give us what we were asking for. Whether it was expanding the character roster, adding the much-needed Training Mode, or polishing up the combat mechanics, it’s clear they’re serious about making this game as good as it can be.

As we count down the days until Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves drops, the Beta 2 Test has only gotten us more excited for the full release. This game is shaping up to be a killer addition to the Fatal Fury series. We can’t wait to dive into the final version and break it all down. Look out for our full review once it’s out—we’ll be going deep on everything, from the mechanics and roster to the visuals and online features. It’s gonna be a wild ride, and I’m definitely here for it.

Razer Laptop Cooling Pad Review – Smart Cooling Meets RGB Customization

Razer continues to expand its RGB-powered ecosystem, and the Razer Laptop Cooling Pad is a welcome addition—one that offers more than just flashy lighting. With smart cooling capabilities, automated fan controls, and integration with Razer Synapse, this cooling pad is designed to maximize thermal performance for high-powered gaming laptops. It’s an impressive piece of kit that goes beyond standard cooling solutions, making it a must-have for Razer Blade users and other gaming laptops alike.

At the core of the Razer Laptop Cooling Pad is HyperBoost technology, which dynamically adjusts fan speeds based on system temperature. Using an airtight pressure chamber and a 140mm fan spinning up to 3000 RPM, it effectively reduces CPU and GPU temperatures, helping sustain higher power limits during demanding tasks especially some of the newer games. Whether you’re gaming, rendering, or pushing your system to its limits, the automated cooling profiles ensure optimal performance without manual adjustments. Plus, the preset and custom fan curves allow users to fine-tune cooling efficiency and noise levels via Razer Synapse. This has been something pretty necessary with the amount of editing and gaming I do on my current laptop.

Beyond cooling, the 3-port USB Type-A hub adds extra connectivity for peripherals like controllers, webcams, keyboards, mix amps etc. While this is a great addition, the lack of USB-C ports feels like a missed opportunity, especially for modern laptop users who rely on USB-C for most connections. Another downside is that the cooling pad requires an AC adapter for proper operation—and surprisingly, there’s no built-in safety feature to prevent it from turning on without being plugged in, which could potentially cause damage if used improperly. This is something to be mindful of, as some reports suggest improper usage might lead to hardware issues.

Despite these minor drawbacks, the Razer Laptop Cooling Pad delivers efficient cooling and convenient connectivity, making it a great addition to any high-performance gaming setup. It’s especially beneficial for Razer Blade owners, as Synapse integration allows seamless control over cooling and RGB lighting. The remappable multi-function buttons provide added customization, letting users tweak fan speeds, adjust RGB presets, or even map quick-access functions like volume control or app launching.

While it comes at a premium price, the Razer Laptop Cooling Pad is a worthwhile investment for those looking to optimize thermals and expand connectivity in their workspace. If you’re a Razer ecosystem user or a power laptop user, this cooling pad not only enhances performance but also adds an extra layer of convenience and customization. It’s a smart, well-designed accessory that does exactly what it promises—and does it well.

Razer Monitor Stand Review – For the RGB and Razer Fans

Razer is known for pumping out a constant stream of new peripherals, and more often than not some are to a singular audience, The Razer Monitor Stand might be one of those products but I didn’t know I needed it until I had it. It’s not a groundbreaking innovation, but it’s a well-designed, efficient, and stylish addition to any gaming or workstation setup. With a sleek black anodized aluminum build, USB-C hub integration, and Chroma RGB lighting, it checks a lot of boxes for those looking to streamline their desk space.

One of the standout features is its built-in 4-port USB-C hub, which includes two USB 3.2 Type-A ports, a USB 3.2 Type-C port, and HDMI 2.0 support. This makes it incredibly convenient for connecting essential devices without cluttering your desk with extra cables. The ergonomic height adjustment is another plus, raising your monitor to a more comfortable viewing level, reducing strain during long work or gaming sessions. Not just for the monitor this shelf also provides a space to store peripherals, from laptops and handhelds to phones and stationery underneith.

Beyond practicality, Razer’s signature Chroma RGB integration gives this stand an extra edge. The remappable Chroma RGB button allows users to cycle through lighting presets or customize it for quick actions like launching apps or muting audio. If you already own other Razer gear, syncing everything for a cohesive look is a no-brainer. More importantly, unlike many RGB accessories, this one doesn’t require an external power source, making it lightweight and easy to move without extra cables.

That said, the premium build comes with a premium price tag. If you’re looking for a more budget-friendly stand or one that supports multiple monitors, there are other options to consider. However, finding an aluminum riser in black that doesn’t bend under the weight of a Thunderbolt monitor while being super light weight is surprisingly difficult—and this one does the job perfectly. The added USB hub and RGB lighting make it feel worth the investment, particularly for those who value both form and function in their setup.

The Razer Monitor Stand is a pricey but high-quality addition to any workspace. If you’re already invested in Razer’s ecosystem or want a durable, stylish stand with extra functionality, it’s a solid buy. For those seeking a minimal yet high-performance solution, this is one of the best options out there.

First Impressions: Aescape the AI Massage Robot

Artificial Intelligence is everywhere these days—changing the game in pretty much every area of tech. But I’ll be honest, I never thought AI would be showing up in the massage world. Well, that’s exactly what Aescape is doing, and they were kind enough to let me try out one of their 30-minute AI massages. Here’s my first impressions and where I think this whole thing could go.

So, What is Aescape?

Aescape is a company that’s developed an AI-powered robot for massage therapy. It’s designed to replicate the techniques of a human massage therapist, but the goal isn’t to replace humans—it’s about offering something that’s accessible, consistent, and convenient.

A Little Backstory

Now, here’s where it gets interesting: I’m not just a guy who’s into tech, gaming, health, and fitness—I’m also a Licensed massage therapist. So I went into this experience super curious. The closest thing I’ve had to a “robotic” massage so far was from one of those chairs or a massage gun, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I only got a 30-minute session focused on my back and glutes, so this was really just a quick test run for me.

The Experience

Right off the bat, the experience was pretty smooth. I was told to change into some clothes they provided, then I lay down while the robot scanned my body. I was able to select the music I wanted, and the pressure level, too. Once the robot started its thing, I could immediately feel how warm and slow the pressure was, which gave me a good feeling about the whole thing.

I also had full control over the session—I could stop it at any time if there was an issue—and I could see exactly where the robot was working on my body in real-time on a screen in front of me. What really impressed me was how well the robot mimicked human massage strokes. It wasn’t just repeating the same motions over and over. It had a pretty technical approach—gradually warming up my muscles, getting deeper into the tissue without ever crossing the line into uncomfortable. At certain points, the robot even hit areas I really needed massaged, and honestly, it felt just like a human therapist working on me.

Where AI Fits In

For a 30-minute session, I came away impressed. It was honestly better than a lot of massages I’ve had. But I do wonder: How adaptable can this thing get? Will it give me the same massage every time, or will it get better and more personalized as it “learns” about me, like a human therapist would? The AI aspect really has me curious, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it develops.

One more session would give me some more answers, but really, the future of this tech depends on how the AI evolves. I don’t think it’s going to replace your massage therapist anytime soon, so don’t worry about robots taking over everything. But I do see this kind of thing becoming a solid option in places like airports, gyms, hotels, spas, and even luxury residential buildings.

What’s next?

I’m truly curious to see where this goes and it’s impact on the Massage industry. AI in in everything and massage is one of the oldest forms of comfort and healing. There’s a space for everyone in the world and it seems like robots too.

Street Fighter 6 Keeps Rolling with the Addition of Mai Shiranui Impressions

0

Street Fighter 6 just keeps rolling along, and the release of Mai Shiranui is another reason why it’s not slowing down anytime soon. She’s the third of four characters being released this year and the second-ever guest character in Street Fighter’s long history, following Terry Bogard’s debut. Both characters hail from the iconic SNK franchise Fatal Fury, and Mai’s addition brings some much-needed diversity to the game. This is especially exciting with the upcoming Fatal Fury: City of Wolves dropping later this year, which will also feature Street Fighter characters. Mai’s ninja skills and fiery mix-ups fit perfectly with the game’s mechanics, adding another fun layer to SF6.

When I first heard that Street Fighter 6 was getting guest characters, I was hyped as hell. Mortal Kombat has been known for bringing in guest characters from movies and other games for years—think Robocop, Kratos from God of War, the Terminator, and a whole lot more. Now, Street Fighter has taken a similar approach, but instead of movie characters, they’ve pulled from another legendary fighting game franchise. SNK, with its Fatal Fury series dating back to the early ’90s, feels like the perfect fit. It just makes sense—Fatal Fury and Street Fighter have been around almost as long as each other.

Mai Shiranui: Simple Yet Effective

Mai is a character with a very straightforward plan: throw fans, mix things up, and push your opponent into the corner. Her move set isn’t groundbreaking by any means—think of her as a basic shoto character. She has a projectile called Kachousen, an invincible DP (Hisou Ryuuenjin), her Hissatsu Shinobi Bachi is a carwheel is some heavy corner carry, she works great at mid-range. Where she differs from your standard shoto is her projectiles: they can be punched away by the opponent unless she charges them first. The cool part is that once you charge her fans, they become true projectiles, and they bounce off the opponent’s head, which opens the door for some sweet mix-ups and more control over the match.

She reminds me of a blend between Chun-Li and Kimberly. She’s got the solid foundation of Chun-Li but brings the mix-up pressure of Kimberly. Once you get the hang of her, you can definitely have a lot of fun with her. The key to really getting into the rhythm with Mai is activating her flame stocks, which you can do by hitting a Level 1 Super. Once activated, her projectiles become true projectiles (no more getting punched away), and her fans automatically bounce off the opponent, adding extra layers to her offensive game.

The Downsides of Mai’s Neutral

One of my biggest issues with Mai is her neutral game. A lot of her neutral moves are negative on block, which puts you at a disadvantage when trying to control space and play the basic neutral game. Most of her neutral connects into specials that offer good spacing and pushback, but they still leave you open to longer-range attacks from opponents. On top of that, her combos feel a bit simple. I breezed through her combo trials without much trouble, which makes me feel like there could be more depth to her combo system.

Mai Overall

Since SF6 dropped, I’ve been maining Chun-Li and Lily, but after spending some time with Mai, I think I’ve found a new main. She’s definitely not as strong as someone like Chun-Li or Cammy, but she’s also not as technical as Chun, and I find her more fun to play than Cammy. I really enjoy her pressure, her fan mix-ups, and the shoto-style gameplay she brings to the table. You can play her aggressively, or you can take a more defensive, turtle-like approach. There’s versatility to her style that I appreciate.

Overall, bringing Fatal Fury characters into Street Fighter 6 was a brilliant move. I’m now looking forward to playing Mai and Chun-Li in Fatal Fury: City of Wolves, and if we ever get Capcom vs. SNK 3? The fighting game community would lose its mind.

OnePlus 13 Review: Speed, stamina, and a camera glow-up you can take anywhere

0

The OnePlus 13 is the kind of phone that feels quick the second you unlock it. Apps snap open, animations stay smooth, and the whole experience reads like a brand that remembered its roots in performance while finally taking cameras and battery life seriously. After a few weeks living with it, including being able to take it on a cruise excursion and a few days traveling, the verdict is simple. This is the most complete OnePlus in years.

Clean lines, tight tolerances, and a screen that just looks right. The 6.8 inch class QHD plus panel runs at 120 Hz and is tuned for clarity rather than showroom glow. It is the first OnePlus display to earn an A plus plus from DisplayMate and it carries TÜV Rheinland Eye Care 4.0, which helps during long sessions. Aqua Touch 2.0 lets the screen read input even through light moisture or gloves, which sounds like a gimmick until you use maps in the cold or with sunscreen on your hands. The phone is rated IP68 and IP69 which allowed us to get pretty rigorous in our testing with confidence, which is rare air for a slim flagship. Colorways are tasteful, with Midnight Ocean using microfiber vegan leather that resists scratches.

Inside is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite with up to 16 GB RAM and fast storage. The phone stays cool because OnePlus uses Dual Cryo Velocity vapor chambers, so the frame rate stays consistent during heavier runs in games and batch edits. In real life that means you do not think about performance. It never gets in the way and there is no thermal droop you need to babysit.

The 6000 mAh Silicon NanoStack battery is the quiet MVP. It is the first time OnePlus ships this pack worldwide and it shows in day two stamina when you are traveling. Wireless fans get an AIRVOOC 50 W magnetic option that can fill the phone in about 75 minutes with the new puck, and wired top ups remain fast and cool. On our cruise, I pushed battery with maps, photos, hotspot, and streaming and still had headroom most nights.

The camera stack is finally flagship grade and consistent. You get a 50 MP Sony LYT-808 main, a 50 MP ultrawide, and a 50 MP 3x Triprism tele. The phone leans on Hasselblad tuning for color and skin tone, and it has actual speed tools like Dual Exposure Algorithm, Clear Burst, and an Action Mode for fast subjects. AI Telephoto helps push clean reach beyond the optical 3x when you need it. Results feel natural, not over sharpened, and night shots keep detail without smearing.

OxygenOS 15 stays quick and tidy. The new bits are actually useful. Circle to Search and Intelligent Search make finding stuff faster. In photos, tools like AI Unblur, AI Detail Boost, and Reflection Eraser clean up keepers without making them look plastic. It all feels like the software is working with you, not asking you to relearn your habits.

Reception and handoffs have been solid. The neat trick is Beacon Link, which lets two devices talk like walkie talkies over Bluetooth up to about 200 meters for low signal scenarios like hiking. A summer update is slated to add Bluetooth messaging to that same pipeline. If you buy the magnetic case, the phone plays nice with MagSafe accessories, and the new AIRVOOC 50 W magnetic charger locks on cleanly.

Here is the part that surprised me. The OnePlus 13 continued to shine while putting it through its paces on our cruise with various testing’s through battery life usage to taking it in the hot tub and even waterslides all without showing even a sign of durability issues. The confidence I have in this exceed expectations of the type of journeys you can actually have with the device. Add in the IP69 rating and the extra display reliability certifications, and you get a phone I do not baby.

This is the OnePlus I wanted. Fast where it counts, battery that keeps up, a camera I trust, and a build that can take a day that is not gentle. If you want a flagship that feels quick every time and does not wilt when you push it, put the OnePlus 13 on your shortlist.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PC Review: My Adventure Through a Reimagined World

0

As someone whose first PlayStation game was Final Fantasy VII, playing Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PC felt like stepping into a world I knew well—but with so many exciting changes. The second installment of the Final Fantasy VII Remake series takes everything I loved about the original and builds on it, offering the open world we OG fans always wanted. There’s even more to explore, more to fight, new side quests, a card game, and some wild plot twists. It’s the classic journey we remember, with breathtaking moments, intense battles, and emotional highs, all made smoother on the PC and especially with DLSS technology but is the game faithful to Part 1 of the remake and better yet the sequence of events in the original? Check out our quick snap review below.

Right from the start, the game doesn’t hold back, picking up right where the previous entry left off—just after the team leaves Midgar. The graphics are stunning, from the combat sequences to simple character interactions. While the first part of the remake was great, this installment feels truly massive, and the synergy between characters is fantastic. Finally out in the open world, I could explore forests and expansive fields (on my trusty Chocobo, of course). There’s a sense of freedom I didn’t feel in the original FF7 Remake. The environments are beautifully detailed, with sunlight filtering through trees and casting long shadows, making everything feel alive. The Gold Saucer was a particular highlight, and the level of detail was mind-blowing—it was like reliving those moments from the original game in a way I never thought possible. The little touches, like fireworks, kids laughing and playing, or even birds flying off in the distance, really bring the world to life.

One of my favorite aspects of the Final Fantasy VII Remake was its combat, and Rebirth takes that to the next level by adding new elements. The real-time action combat is fast, fluid, and exciting. Red XIII, Yuffie, and Cait Sith join the party, adding more diversity to the already intense Avalanche team. One moment, I’m swinging Cloud’s Buster Sword, the next, I’m dodging around as Tifa, delivering quick punches and kicks. Aerith is my go-to for ranged attacks and magic, and there’s something incredibly satisfying about launching a huge fireball to wipe out a group of enemies. The new Folios system, while not new to Final Fantasy in general, is a welcome addition to the FFVII series, allowing me to reset perks and abilities for different characters.

Now with the power of Nvidia’s DLSS of which they’ve made some improvements on even 40 series cards I was confidence things would run at staggering frame rates. This technology works its magic by upscaling lower-resolution images with AI for those who don’t know, allowing me to enjoy the game at a higher resolution without sacrificing performance. The improvement is especially noticeable in combat.

One moment where DLSS really impressed me was during the climactic battle in Chapter 14, “End of the World” (don’t worry, no spoilers here!). The fight required constant movement, with the camera zooming in and out as I dashed around the screen. With DLSS, the game never stuttered, even amidst all the chaos. The resolution was crisp, and the action remained fluid.

With a broader selection of party members, spells, and abilities, battles are fast-paced and rewarding—once you learn to navigate the controlled chaos.

The game’s soundtrack is nothing short of spectacular. Nobuo Uematsu’s classic compositions have been reimagined with reverence and creativity, delivering some of the most powerful musical moments in recent gaming memory—especially during the climactic battles.

Despite its slow pacing and occasional filler, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is a deeply sincere and lovingly crafted experience. Even without nostalgia for the original, its characters, story, and music evoke a profound sense of history and emotion. It’s an unforgettable journey—one that, despite its flaws, refuses to let go.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on PC was absolutely worth the wait. At this pace, I can only imagine what the final installment of this trilogy will bring. It’s a reinvention of an already legendary game—the world feels bigger, the combat more engaging, and the characters deeper. From Queens Blood to all the side quests and exploration, there’s so much to dive into. I really appreciate how the game manages to stay true to the original story while keeping us veteran fans on our toes with new twists. This PC version is visually stunning, and runs beautifully on my system. I’m constantly blown away by the attention to detail in both the visuals and the gameplay. This is exactly why I love gaming on PC.

CES 2025: Audioscenic Unveils 32-Inch QD-OLED Monitor with Built-In 3D Audio

0

At CES 2025, Audioscenic introduced a game-changing display: Dell’s 32 Plus 4K QD-OLED monitor, featuring Amphi Hi-D technology. This 31.5-inch QD-OLED monitor delivers a first-of-its-kind room-filling 3D audio experience, eliminating the need for external speakers or headphones. We got hands on during the show and we were really impressed and what features it had for speakers that were imbedded in the monitor.

Dell’s new monitor integrates a 5x5W bezel-mounted speaker array, using AI-enhanced 3D sound processing to adapt to the listener’s position. A head-tracking system dynamically adjusts the audio, beaming immersive sound directly to the user’s ears, creating a panoramic sound field that extends beyond the physical speakers.

  • 5x5W Speaker Array – Bezel-mounted for an all-in-one immersive audio experience.
  • AI-Enhanced 3D Sound – Machine learning optimizes sound positioning for clarity and depth.
  • Head-Tracking Audio – Adjusts in real-time to maintain optimal listening angles.
  • Immersive Multichannel Sound – Eliminates the need for external speakers while delivering spatial depth and precision.

Audioscenic’s Amphi Hi-D technology is paving the way for a future where immersive audio is seamlessly integrated into everyday devices without bulky setups. The Dell S3225QC with Audioscenic Amphi Technology is just the beginning, and we’re excited to see where this innovation leads. Looking forward to more on the Dell S3225QC with Audioscenic Amphi Technology coming!
