Marvel: Tōkon – A New Challenger Enters, But at What Cost to Marvel vs. Capcom and 2XKO?

0

When Marvel: Tōkon – Fighting Souls was announced, the fighting game community was hit with a mix of excitement, confusion, and maybe a little heartbreak.

Developed by Arc System Works, the team behind genre-defining titles like Guilty Gear Strive and Dragon Ball FighterZ, and backed by Marvel Games and PlayStation Studios, Tōkon is shaping up to be a visually stunning, 4v4 anime-style tag fighter, set for release in 2026 on PS5 and PC. And if that sentence alone doesn’t make your ears perk up, you might want to check your pulse.

The game already showcases a strong early roster: Spider-Man, Iron Man, Storm, Captain America, Doctor Doom, Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes), Ms. Marvel, and Star-Lord. And in classic ArcSys fashion, the art direction is bold, stylish, and straight-up anime-inspired — a surprising but welcome shift for Marvel, encouraged by the studio itself.

But not everyone is celebrating.

For fans of Marvel vs. Capcom, this news hits a little different. Let’s not sugarcoat it — this feels like a nail in the coffin.

The MVC series, while legendary, has been stuck in limbo for years. Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite didn’t exactly light the world on fire, and the licensing and creative tensions between Marvel and Capcom made a sequel seem more and more unlikely.

Now, with Marvel going all-in on a new partnership with Arc System Works, Capcom’s biggest rival in the 2D anime fighter scene — it’s hard not to feel like Marvel vs. Capcom 4 just became a pipe dream. The “vs” legacy that defined generations of arcade players may have been spiritually passed on, but not to Capcom.

That hurts.

That said… if Marvel was going to trust another developer to carry the torch of multi-character tag fighting, there’s no one more qualified than Arc System Works.

Just look at Dragon Ball FighterZ. It took one of the most beloved IPs in the world and delivered a tag-based fighter that nailed both casual and competitive play. Flashy supers, dramatic team synergy, and a surprisingly deep meta , ArcSys knows how to balance spectacle with strategy. Tōkon looks like it’s aiming for the same magic.

They’ve even said you can focus on playing one character while the others support you, a welcome nod to newcomers, without alienating competitive players. It’s the kind of system that could pull in both Marvel fans and fighting game vets alike.

Now here’s the wildcard: Tōkon’s timing could seriously shake things up for Riot’s 2XKO. Riot’s 2v2 tag-based fighter has been hyped for years. The studio has taken its sweet time, and while the gameplay looks promising, it still doesn’t have a firm release date.

Meanwhile, Marvel: Tōkon now has the IP power of the MCU, the fighting pedigree of ArcSys, and a locked-in 2026 window. It’s coming for the same audience 2XKO has been courting — and with arguably more momentum.

Then again, maybe we can have both? There might be enough room for both, especially if each carves its own identity. 2XKO has Riot’s lore and team-based synergy at its core. Tōkon brings in iconic superheroes with flashy, four-character chaos. If both hit their marks, we might finally see an era where two new tag-team giants can coexist and push the genre forward.

Marvel: Tōkon is both a bold new chapter and a bittersweet moment for fighting game history. It’s the rebirth of Marvel tag-fighting… just not the way many of us imagined.

For MVC fans, this might be goodbye. But if Arc System Works can capture the magic they brought to Dragon Ball FighterZ, and Marvel gives them the creative freedom to go all-out, Tōkon might be more than just a replacement, it could be the future.

Capcom Fighting Collection 2 Review – A Real Fighter’s Time Capsule

When I saw Capcom Fighting Collection 2 was dropping, I felt like a kid again. This isn’t just a bundle of old games. This is Capcom showing real love to the heads who were there when fighting games were more than just something you played — they were a lifestyle.

Back in the day, I’d spend hours in the arcade or playing CVS2 on a beat-up PS2 with my boys. That competitive fire, the trash talk, the respect — it was all part of it. So when I booted this up and heard that Capcom vs. SNK 2 soundtrack again? Goosebumps. Straight up.

This collection isn’t short, you’ve got: Capcom vs. SNK 1 , Capcom vs. SNK , Street Fighter Alpha 3, Power Stone 1, Power Stone 2, Project Justice (Rival Schools), Plasma Sword, Capcom Fighting Evolution

They could’ve easily gone the lazy route and slapped a couple games together, but they really brought out the deep cuts. Capcom vs. SNK 2 still plays smooth as butter, and that Groove system? Still ahead of its time. Every match feels like chess with fists.

Alpha 3 Upper brings back that -ism customization and full roster, so if you’re a Karin main or someone who loves juggling with V-ism, you’re gonna feel right at home.

And then there’s Project Justice. Wow, I haven’t played that since I was 19. That game still goes hard. It’s anime chaos meets high school drama, and it’s beautiful. Team-based fighting with cinematic combos and school spirit? It still hits.

Power Stone 1 and 2 are the ultimate party games. You throw four players into a stage, and it’s just wild fun. Even people who don’t normally touch fighting games can get into it.

Plasma Sword it’s weird, but it’s fun. It’s like Capcom said, “Let’s make a Star Wars fighter, but add anime and go nuts.” This is the first time I played Hayato and again, a huge flashback to a time I hold dear in my heart.

Capcom Fighting Evolution… Alright, yeah, it’s the weakest link here. But it’s like that one mixtape track you skip — you still appreciate the full album for what it is. It’s kind of a mix up Capcom Fighting game.

Outside of the line up, this is what I respect most is how they handled online gameplay. They didn’t just dump these games on us. They added rollback netcode for smooth online matches. That’s a big deal. No one wants to play CVS2 with lag. They also included training modes with hitbox displays, one-button specials for newer players, save states, a full art and music gallery… the works. This is how you treat a legacy.

Here’s what’s crazy — they didn’t just randomly bring CVS2 back. You don’t touch something like that unless you’re testing the waters. With SNK back in full swing with Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves and Capcom knocking it out of the park with Street Fighter 6, this feels like more than a nostalgia drop.

This feels like a signal. People have been begging for Capcom vs. SNK 3 for years. And now, we’re seeing both companies working together again. They know the hype is there. They know we’re ready. And if they make it happen? That’s day one, midnight release, call out of work levels of hype.

Overall, just like the Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Game Collection, this collection reminded me why I fell in love with fighting games in the first place. The rivalries, the tech, the fun, the salt — all of it. If you grew up on this stuff, it’s gonna feel like coming home. If you’re new, this is the perfect history lesson in why Capcom was (and still is) the king of the genre.

IECS 2025 Convention Overview and Thoughts

0

As a licensed massage therapist, I’ve always been passionate about the power of touch to heal and help people feel their best. But even with over a decade of experience under my belt, I never fully realized how vast the spa industry was until I had the opportunity to attend the International Esthetics, Cosmetics, and Spa Convention (IECS) in New York. As a guy from the city, you don’t always think about the finer details of the wellness and beauty world, but this event opened my eyes to so much more than just massages.

There were professionals from every corner of the beauty and wellness world — from seasoned spa owners to newbies like me, eager to learn. Honestly, it was a little overwhelming at first, but in a good way. I’ve always focused on massage therapy, but the convention made me realize how much more goes into creating a holistic spa experience. This wasn’t just about a massage; it was about combining all the elements of beauty, skincare, wellness, and relaxation to offer something bigger — something that touches both the body and mind. Companies like Santu, Omnilux, Clix Therapy, Sorella, Pulse, Glymedplus, Glamcor, Celluma, Glownar, Esthemax, and so much more were in attendance.

What really stood out to me were the seminars and workshops.I didn’t attend any classes since this was my first time, and I didn’t see as much Massage Therapy as I would have hoped for. I’ve always thought of massage therapy as my bread and butter, but seeing how other professionals handle massage treatments opened my eyes to how it fits into the bigger picture of the wellness world. I had the chance to dive deep into skincare, wellness tech, and even spa business management. Some of the workshops focused on things like integrating aromatherapy into treatments, light therapy, and how to run a successful spa operation — all of which are super relevant to what I do.

I got to learn from some true experts who have been in the game for years. They didn’t hold back when it came to sharing their knowledge, and that kind of openness was exactly what I was looking for. Plus, I left with ideas on how to level up my own practice, whether it’s adding new techniques or just improving the experience I give my clients.

One of the best parts of the convention was meeting people who are actually running the show in the spa industry. I had the chance to speak with spa owners, product innovators, and other therapists who gave me some solid advice. We talked about everything from new wellness trends to challenges in the business, and it felt great to be able to ask questions and swap stories with people who are passionate about the same things I am. I even was offered a free Facial from Cosgram where they pampered me with their Bio P-Exosome and Gommagic Blades.

It’s one thing to learn about a subject from a book or a workshop, but connecting with real people who live and breathe this industry was a whole different level of learning. I left with some new connections, and who knows, maybe some future collaborations.

One of the most exciting things about attending IECS was seeing where the spa and wellness industry is headed. There’s so much new tech out there — AI skin analysis, virtual wellness consultations, even massage equipment that’s more high-tech than anything I’ve ever seen. The more I learned, the more I realized that the wellness world is about much more than physical treatments. It’s about creating full-on experiences that help people feel better in every aspect of their lives.

I also got a glimpse into how the focus on mental and emotional wellness is growing in the spa world. Spas aren’t just places for relaxation anymore; they’re places where people go to recharge in every way possible. This trend toward mental health and mindfulness in wellness treatments is something I can definitely get behind.

Attending the International Esthetics, Cosmetics, and Spa Convention was an insightful experience for me. It wasn’t just about learning new techniques or finding new products. It was about seeing the spa industry as a whole, understanding how massage therapy fits into it, and discovering ways to expand my own practice. I walked away with a better appreciation for how much thought and care goes into designing wellness experiences — and it’s made me more excited than ever to keep improving the services I offer to my clients.

If you’re in the wellness industry, I can’t recommend this convention enough. It’s a great way to stay on top of the latest trends, meet new people, and leave feeling inspired to take your work to the next level.

Intake’s Transparent Nasal Review: Delivers Enhanced Breathing & Improved Oxygen Efficiency

0

Intake, the innovative magnetic nasal breathing aid, has introduced a new clear version, enhancing its appeal for fitness enthusiasts and athletes. This transparent design offers both functional and aesthetic benefits, making it particularly suitable for high-intensity activities.

This version is no different than the previous model giving you the ease, comfort, nasal expansion, and health benefits that come from it. However, this design allows for a more incognito approach. With the previous black model, I have had people look at me and ask me what is on my nose, and proudly, I love sharing what Intake is. I will say, having the clear version attracted less attention.

Why the Clear Version Excels – Fitness Fanatics

1. Discreet Appearance: The transparent design ensures that the device remains unobtrusive during workouts, allowing users to focus on performance without drawing attention. I found it to be more comfortable and I felt less socially awkward on my runs, and at the gym while still having the same benefits as the non clear version.

2. Sweat-Resistant Durability: Engineered with medical-grade shatterproof nylon 12 with coated neodymium magnets to withstand moisture. The clear Intake device maintains its adhesion even during intense, sweaty sessions, outperforming traditional nasal strips that often lose their stickiness.

3. Enhanced Nasal Breathing: By gently expanding the nasal passages, Intake facilitates deeper and more efficient breathing. This leads to improved oxygen intake, reduced heart rate, and better endurance during physical activities.

4. Comfort and Reusability: Unlike some nasal dilators that can cause discomfort, Intake’s design ensures a comfortable fit. Its reusability also offers a sustainable and cost-effective solution for regular users.

Ideal for Dynamic Athletes

Intake is a great way to focus on nasal breathing, and research already shows numerous health benefits from it. Two simple benefits of nasal breathing for athletes:

  1. Improved Oxygen Efficiency: Nasal breathing promotes better oxygen uptake by slowing down the breath and encouraging diaphragmatic breathing, which can improve endurance and reduce fatigue.
  2. Enhanced Focus and Recovery: Breathing through the nose activates the parasympathetic nervous system, helping athletes stay calm under pressure and recover more quickly between high-intensity efforts.

The clear version of the Intake nasal breathing aid stands out as a valuable tool for athletes and dancers alike. Its combination of discreet design, durability, and functional benefits makes it a worthy addition to any fitness regimen. Regardless Intake is doing the right thing. You can use the black or white version at the comfort or your home, or go clear if you need something more discreet in a outdoor setting.

For just 39.99, you can directly visit their website at intakebreathing.com for a starter kit and see for yourself how much air you’ve been missing out!

Razer HandHeld Dock Chroma Review: Perfect Gamers Companion

So, back at CES 2025, I first caught wind of Razer’s latest release—the Handheld Dock Chroma—and I was definitely curious. As a guy from New York who’s always on the road for fighting game tournaments and traveling for work, I’m constantly on the lookout for gear that can keep up with my busy, competitive lifestyle. After a short wait, I finally got my hands on the dock, and it’s exactly what I’ve been searching for.

This dock isn’t just another accessory—it’s something that gets how we game today. You can use it with a Steam Deck, ASUS Alley, a Nintendo Switch, or using a tablet or phone for gaming, the Handheld Dock Chroma enhances the experience. The beauty of it is that it doesn’t matter what device you’re using—it connects seamlessly and gives you everything you need to play like a pro, no matter where you are.

When you’re on the go, especially traveling between airports, hotel rooms, and tournaments, you need your gear to be small and tough enough to survive the constant hustle. Razer nailed this with the Handheld Dock Chroma. It’s light, yet built from solid aluminum, so it’s perfect for tossing in your bag without worrying about it getting wrecked or adding too much weight. I’ve been throwing it in and out of my carry-on, and it’s holding up just fine.

But don’t let the size fool you—this thing packs a lot. It has six ports, including three USB-A, one USB-C, HDMI 2.0 for external displays, and even a Gigabit Ethernet port for when you need that stable, wired connection for intense online matches, it’s a beast in a compact form.

One thing that drives me crazy while I’m traveling is when my device starts dying during a game or while I’m in the middle of something important. The Handheld Dock Chroma comes with 100W power delivery. That’s a huge plus when you’re trying to stay connected during long flights or between rounds at a tournament.

Now, I don’t know about you, but comfort is huge for me when I’m gaming, especially on the go. The adjustable hinge with two angles (45° and 75°) is one of those little things that really makes a difference. I can tweak it to my perfect angle and avoid straining my neck or getting that uncomfortable gaming posture after an hour or so. Whether I’m sitting on a couch or at a table, this dock lets me adjust everything to make sure I’m comfortable. I really appreciate that little touch—it’s all about making those long gaming sessions as enjoyable as possible.

Of course, this is Razer, so you know there’s gotta be some RGB action. The Chroma RGB lighting lets you customize the lighting effects to match your vibe or gaming setup. Personally, I’m not usually one to go overboard with the lights, but I gotta admit, the ability to tweak it through Razer Synapse is pretty cool. It’s just a nice little extra that adds some personality to your setup, and we all know how important it is to have that personal touch when you’re gaming.

At $79.99, the Razer Handheld Dock Chroma offers a solid value for anyone who needs a reliable, portable solution for gaming while traveling. After spending some time with it, I’m convinced it’s something every competitive gamer should have in their arsenal. Whether you’re at home, in a hotel, or on a plane, this dock makes it easy to keep your gaming setup up to par no matter where you are.

Razer got this one right. It checks all the boxes for connectivity, durability, and comfort, and does it all without being a pain to travel with. If you’re a gamer who’s always moving and needs something that works, this dock should be at the top of your list. The CES buzz was real, and now that I’ve used it, I can see why.

Samsung QN90F Neo QLED 4K TV Review – Brighter, Smarter, and Built to Impress

The Samsung QN90F is the company’s latest flagship 4K mini-LED TV, replacing the already-impressive QN90D and delivering across the board with better brightness, reduced glare, and an upgrade in smart features. I recently had the opportunity to spend hands-on time with the a unit at Samsung, and while there’s just one or two kinks but were assured it would be ready intime and didn’t impact our overall review on things.

Design-wise, the QN90F is unmistakably sleek. The near-bezel-less screen stretches edge to edge, mounted on a minimalistic metal stand that works as well on a console as it does wall-mounted. The standout design feature is the Glare-Free panel, which noticeably reduces reflections from ambient light. While I didn’t get a chance to test it in direct sunlight, it handled overhead office lights well. Ports are smartly arranged, including four HDMI, two USBs, optical audio, Ethernet, and more—everything you’d expect from a high-end TV.

Under the hood, the QN90F brings Samsung’s NQ4 AI Gen3 Processor, which enhances visuals in real time and powers a suite of new Vision AI features. These include Live Translate, which subtitles foreign content in real time, Click to Search for actor or content info with a click, and Universal Gestures, which even allows you to control the TV with your Galaxy Watch. These AI features may sound like fluff at first, but they genuinely elevated the experience—especially for multi-lingual content and casual second-screen browsing.

When it comes to performance, this TV delivers. The 65-inch model was noticeably brighter than last year’s QN90D, with deep blacks and minimal light bloom—though color range and saturation weren’t quite on OLED levels. However, Motion Xcelerator 165Hz ensured ultra-smooth gaming, and I tested several game streaming services to find the TV faster and more responsive than before. Whether it’s fast-paced gaming or sports, motion handling on the QN90F is a real highlight.

Audio is another strong point. Models 55 inches and up pack a 4.2.2-channel 60W Dolby Atmos speaker system, a serious step up from traditional stereo TV sound. It also supports Samsung’s Q-Symphony, which allows the TV’s built-in speakers to work in sync with compatible soundbars. In testing, this created a rich and spatial soundstage—especially effective during action scenes and cinematic content.

While some may find the interface a bit busy, the addition of Samsung Art Store—with over 3,000 works from Basquiat to The Met—is a welcome lifestyle enhancement. If you’re looking for a TV that doubles as wall art, this only adds to the QN90F’s appeal from the Samsung Art Store’s growing library.

That said, the QN90F doesn’t come cheap. The 65-inch model is priced at $2,699.99, which places it well into OLED territory. It’s significantly more expensive than alternatives but does offer reliability above all else. If you’re not ready to spend that much, Samsung’s QN80F offers similar features at a more approachable price point.

The QN90F is one of Samsung’s most refined 4K TVs yet. It’s a powerhouse for gamers, movie lovers, and tech enthusiasts alike. With brilliant visuals, intelligent features, and standout sound, this TV doesn’t just look good—it feels future-proof. Stay tuned for other coverage from Samsung and more here!

Victrix Pro KO Leverless Controller Review: Is It Really Worth It?

Today, we’re taking a close look at the Victrix Pro KO Leverless Controller—the controller that recently snagged Tech of the Year at the EVO Awards. If you’re into fighting games and you haven’t been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard a lot about this one. If you’re considering upgrading your gear, this might be one to look into. Check out our video review above and let us know if you’d pick one up!

Let’s start with the basics: the build and design. The Victrix Pro KO has a slimmer, more premium feel compared to the older Victrix Pro model. What’s nice is that it’s really light and portable, but at the same time, it doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart in your hands. You can tell right off the bat this thing is built to last.

One of the highlights for me is the 16 moveable, mappable buttons. The layout is simple and sleek, but the real kicker is the hot-swappable Cherry MX Speed Silver switches. So, if you’re someone who likes the idea of a faster response time or a more tactile feel, you can easily swap out the switches yourself. Plus, there’s a 3.5mm audio port for your headphones, so you can easily plug in for both game audio and chat. It’s these little conveniences that make a big difference, especially when you’re in the middle of a heated match.

Oh, and those RGB button lights—they look fantastic. You’ve got a ton of options to play around with through the Victrix control hub.

When it comes to performance, the Pro KO Leverless doesn’t disappoint. The larger size gives you plenty of grip, so you don’t have to worry about your hands slipping around. Thanks to the Silver switches, the inputs are fast , smooth, and responsive.

Now, if you’re someone who puts in long gaming sessions, comfort is key. The 6.28° wrist slope really does make a difference, keeping your wrists in a natural position.

For me, the best part of the Pro KO is how customizable it is. This is where the Victrix control hub really shines. You can remap buttons, adjust SOCD settings, tweak audio settings, and, of course, go crazy with the RGB lighting. I had fun setting each button to a different color and then choosing how those lights would flash. Since you can store 4 different profiles, you can easily toggle between them depending on what you’re playing.

But the customization doesn’t stop there. The controller has a removable top plate, so you can easily add or remove buttons. I added two extra buttons to my layout, and the whole process was super simple—no need to mess with wires or anything complicated. Victrix even included extra switches, buttons, and tools, making the whole thing pretty painless. The only downside? You can’t swap out the faceplate, which would be a nice touch for those who like to fully personalize their gear. Hopefully, that’s something they consider down the road.

Now, if you’re a competitive player, you’re going to love the Tournament Lock Switch. This feature disables the system buttons (like the Home button), so you don’t accidentally pause or mess up your game during a critical moment. When it’s tournament time, those little things really add up.The USB-C connection also features a lock feature, ensuring you stay connected and don’t have to worry about accidental disconnections in the heat of battle.

So, let’s wrap it up. At $249.99, the Victrix Pro KO Leverless Controller isn’t exactly cheap, but if you’re serious about your fighting game setup, it’s worth the investment. The premium design, customizable features, and tournament-ready specs make it a great choice for players who want something that’s not only fast and reliable but built to last. Whether you’re just getting into the competitive scene or you’re already an experienced player, this controller can take your game to the next level.
