At IFA 2025, Lenovo finally revealed the Legion Go 2, confirming its specs, price, and release window. The device launches in October 2025 with a starting MSRP of $1,049. That puts it in premium territory but there’s a few things going for it that could be justifying the price tag.
This handheld PC runs Windows 11 and is powered by up to an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme processor paired with up to 32GB of 8000MHz RAM and 2TB PCIe Gen 4 storage. Add in a microSD slot supporting an extra 2TB, and you have a portable gaming beast ready for any catalog.
The Legion Go 2 rocks an 8.8-inch WUXGA OLED touchscreen with HDR TrueBlack 1000 certification, delivering vibrant colors and true blacks at up to 144Hz with VRR. It’s one of the best panels in the handheld category, that might outshine rival handheld gaming PC’s that will be coming soon as well!
Lenovo has upgraded its TrueStrike detachable controllers, making them more ergonomic with drift-free hall effect joysticks and a larger pivot D-pad. They still support FPS mode, turning the right controller into a vertical mouse for shooters. The new layout feels smoother, smarter, and fully backward compatible with the first-gen Legion Go a few more buttons for those detached situations for more control.

Other thoughtful touches include a robust kickstand, USB4 ports on both top and bottom, and a fingerprint reader built into the power button for quick logins. The 74Whr battery is more than 50% larger than the first generation, reducing downtime and extending play sessions.
UPDATE: We also just heard the Legion Go 2 will also be part of the select group of handhelds offering Xbox ecosystem benefits in 2026. This means a few benefits that will hopefully beef up performance for better battery and a better gaming experience.
I had hands-on time with the Legion Go 2, and it feels like Lenovo combined the best aspects of the original Legion Go and the Legion Go S, then leveled everything up to modern standards. From the display to the controllers, this feels like the handheld Lenovo fans have been waiting for.
The Legion Go 2 is shaping up to be one of the most powerful and versatile gaming handhelds we’ve seen yet, and I can’t wait to dive into a full review soon.
