Gaming audio technology has come a long way, with features like Dolby, THX, and RGB lighting becoming a new high end standard. But while most gaming headsets pick one or two standout features, Razer has gone all-in with the Kraken V4 Proācombining high-definition haptics, premium audio, and customization for an immersive experience that might be unlike anything else. Letās dive into what makes this headset a serious contender in the premium audio market.
The Kraken line is no stranger to upgrades over the years, but the Kraken V4 Pro brings a new level of gaming high-end innovation with Sensa HD Haptics. Sensa HD Haptics, which also powers Razer’s new Freyja cushion, is making its debut in the Kraken V4 Pro, this haptic feedback system is designed to mimic the sensations of modern console controllers, but on different devices and is more powerful when accessories are paired. This isnāt your typical bass-rumble haptics; itās a precisely-tuned feedback system that creates realistic sensations based on in-game events. It adds a layer of immersion that makes standard headsets feel one-dimensional. The V4 Pro is coming with its own base station for quick sound adjustments, the V4 Pro offers everything you need for fully immersive, responsive gameplay.

For long-time Razer fans, the Kraken V4 Pro will look familiar. It retains the classic Kraken shape but adds a few new touches, including a dedicated haptics button and a sleek Sensa HD logo on the headband. The ear cups are thinner and fold flat for easy portability, while the build quality leans more into metal for a premium feel. The precision-drilled ear cups reveal RGB lighting, and the matte black finish gives it a stealthy, high-end look, though itās currently the only color option.
Comfort is a key aspect, especially for long gaming sessions. The V4 Pro is snug initially, but the memory foam-packed, fabric-wrapped headband and thickly padded faux-leather ear cups break in nicely over time. While faux leather can cause some heat buildup, the V4 Pro provides enough adjustability to maintain a good fit. The notched headband and coiled cables add durability and flexibility, keeping the fit stable without fuss. The headset itself is comfortable but will admit it takes a bit of getting used to, it makes sure it provides a snug fit and initially it was a bit too snug but now have been able to wear them hours on end.

The V4 Pro doesnāt skimp on practicality. With on-ear buttons, a USB-C charging port, and a volume rocker, itās easy to control sound and haptics settings without breaking focus. The retractable boom microphone is a standout featureāsturdy, adjustable, and always within reach. This ensures you wonāt misplace it and provides clear, reliable voice capture for team comms or streaming sessions.
The Sensa HD haptics truly shine in games, allowing you to feel directional movements that enhance the action, like feeling the vibrations of a heavy weapon reload or the shudder of an explosive spell. This is not your typical bass-heavy rumble; haptics are synchronized with in-game events, so vibrations feel natural and add depth to the gameplay experience. Even racing games, which we werenāt able to test during the review, would likely benefit greatly from the immersion this headset provides. We were able to experience all of this with Final Fantasy XVI which is one of the compatible games. They have a few games that are currenty supported but do hope the list gets larger with older and newer games in the future!

The Kraken V4 Pro is versatile in connectivity, supporting Razer HyperSpeed Wireless, Bluetooth, USB, and 3.5mm jack. This headset can connect to multiple devices at once, and it really shines in scenarios where you need to multitask. For instance, I connected the V4 Pro to my PS5 and my phone simultaneously, allowing me to talk on Discord or take a call while hearing game audio. Itās a game-changer for those who donāt want to miss out on in-game moments while chatting with friends or handling calls and when I say these headphones are versatile I mean it. Tt provided great audio when I put them through consoles like the Xbox Series X listening to games with audio based HD Haptics and even watched 4k movies in 7.1 surround on a THX certified projector for a great experience. We’re looking to test the Freyja for a ultimate haptics home theater experience soon!
Priced at $399, the Razer Kraken V4 Pro aren’t cheap but offers impressive features that make it a serious investment for gamers who want top-tier performance. With THX Spatial 7.1 surround sound, long battery life, and multi-stream capabilities, itās more than just a gaming headsetāitās a versatile audio experience. Whether youāre gaming, watching movies, or listening to music, the V4 Proās rich features and customization options allow you to tailor every detail to your preference, making it a must-have for any serious gamer.
