Freddy Krueger is back, and this time in video game form. The fourth DLC for Mortal Kombat will include Mr. Nightmare on Elm street himself. For $4.99 or 400 MP's, or free for you season pass holders you can download Freddy next month on August 9th. All that's left to wonder is when Jason Voorhees will show up with his big ass machete and hockey mask.
The original Mortal Kombat in 1992 is probably the first M rated game to be released on a console that stirred up controversy. The graphic violence of the 16bit fighter led in part to the creation of the ESRB. The last couple of games had seemed like the series wasn't moving forward, especially with its release of Mortal Kombat vs DC which had been rated T for Teen. It's almost 20 years since the original game and it has finally gotten a true sequel to the classics which dare I say might be the best one yet.
This past week Spike hosted the Video Game Awards. Along with a great show, a plethora of games were announced that are making gamers look forward to sequels in the worst way possible. If you missed the VGA's don't worry, we made it a little easier to re-cap what was shown and a small break down of each game after the jump.
