Ubisoft & Lucasfilm Games announce Star Wars Outlaws
Ubisoft and Lucasfilm Games have announced the release date of Star Wars Outlaws, the first open-world Star Wars game, launching on August 30. Players can enjoy early access by subscribing to Ubisoft+ or purchasing the special editions. The game follows the adventures of Kay Vess and Nix as they navigate the underworld during the Empire’s distracted rule. Players will explore various locations, interact with iconic criminal organizations, and undertake a daring heist with their outlaw crew, all while evading the Empire’s grasp. The game promises a fresh perspective on the Star Wars universe, inviting players to explore new aspects of the galaxy far, far away.
Brass Tacks
Set during a golden age for the underworld amidst the Empire’s distracted rule, the game follows the adventures of Kay Vess, a skilled thief, and her companion Nix. After catching the attention of Sliro, the leader of the criminal syndicate Zerek Besh, They are tasked with pulling off one of the greatest heists of all time to earn their freedom. To accomplish this, they must navigate the underworld across the galaxy, building their reputation with legendary criminal organizations like the Pyke Syndicate, the Hutt Cartel, the Ashiga Clan, and Crimson Dawn.
Creative Director Julian Gerighty shared that players will journey with Kay and Nix through the underworld and the Outer Rim, taking on jobs from syndicates, facing intimidating foes, avoiding Imperial rule, and recruiting an outlaw crew. Douglas Reilly, vice president of Lucasfilm Games, stated that Star Wars Outlaws invites fans to explore a side of the galaxy yet to be fully explored, focusing on the exploits of scoundrels during this tumultuous time.
Editions & Pricing
Star Wars Outlaws will be available through the Ubisoft Store and at retailers with an MSRP of $69.99 for the Standard Edition, $109.99 for the Gold Edition, and $129.99 for the Ultimate Edition. By subscribing to Ubisoft+ or purchasing the Gold or Ultimate Edition, players can also access the game up to three days early.
