New Video Game Releases for this week

Published on May 18th, 2009 | by Ahphrow

bc11 The brand NEW video game releases for this week are lead by some familiar titles from the 80's. Personally, I love nostalgia. I believe that some of these titles will remind you of those good old times. More companies should go through their back catalog and do new remakes. Do not call this a comeback, they have been here for years... Read More

madden2010-boxart

By now, anyone who has heard of the Madden Football franchise has heard of the inevitable "curse" that seems to follow which ever player is selected as the cover athlete. Madden began using cover athletes on their games in 1999, and every one of them has suffered from "the curse." If you don't believe me, the stats and injury reports speak for themselves... Gaming from a girl’s perspective

Published on May 1st, 2009 | by Aykut Donmez

mariop

Hello lvlone users! My name is Melissa and I was offered the opportunity to be a guest writer for this website due to a few factors, a major one being that I'm a girl. Yes the fact that I'm a girl and play games might seem shocking to some, but you'd be surprised as to how many of us are taking part in the once guy-dominated world of games. I'll be using my unique point of view to write about a variety of topics on video games with a particular focus on how they affect relationships, so pay attention and you just might learn something that can help you with the opposite sex... The most memorable opening scenes

Published on April 24th, 2009 | by Aykut Donmez

zelda1

Video games are much like books and movies—the very beginning has a big impact on the audience. The opening scene sets the feel and pacing of the quest, and is that split second after the intro movie (if there is one) is done when players are first given control of their character. They have that one moment to locate themselves on screen and take in their surroundings. They take a breath, and then take their first step on the adventure ahead of them. They don't know what to expect, what kind of baddies and bosses await, but they're eager and ready. Although there are many video games that have a forgettable or perhaps generic beginning, some titles stand out from the crowd. These games have unique and distinguished opening scenes, so much so that the initial frame has been embedded into gamers heads and have become instantly recognizable. Here are some of the most memorable opening scenes in gaming... Read More

An interesting piece of news, Target is now offering pre-order cards for $1. Not only does this reserve your game but they're also giving you a $5 gift card when you swing by to pick up your game. Not exactly the craziest deal ever but I think it can help the giant a lot in it's sales, especially in these economic times... Read More

What games are coming out for PS3?

Published on April 7th, 2009 | by Aykut Donmez

ps3

Ok I have a lot of respect for Sony, don't get me wrong. They played a huge role in the gaming industry with the Psone and PS2, but I have to say Sony's latest system is not very appealing to me. It's expensive for one, but more importantly than that there hasn't been too many exclusive games on it that really have that system seller feel to it. This is not my opinion alone, the market has left the electronics giant in last place in the console wars since it's release. Having said that I'll admit the console does have some interesting games on it's line up, these up coming titles could help Sony a lot, here are a few... Read More
