Sony and EA have come to an agreement to bring Battlefield 3’s DLC to the Playstation 3 first. Considering that Microsoft has had first dibs on the DLC for the Call of Duty DLC. The wait for the map packs or DLC won’t take a month or more for it to surface on 360 though, the agreement that they’ve made is that the DLC will come to the 360 a week later. The first DLC to hit will be the “Back to Karkand” package which will include four maps from Battlefield 2 all remade with the Frostbite 2 engine. Expect Battlefield 3 out later this year, and the DLC a little later.
Orcs Must Die Release Date Announced!

Gamers Crack AIDS Puzzle
First of all congrats! A big point for gamers around the world for this one. For over a decade scientists have been hard at work trying to figure out ways to figure and map out the structure a AIDS-like enzyme called Mason-Pfizer monkey virus (M-PMV), a close relative of HIV that causes AIDS in monkeys. After three weeks of mapping out the entire enzyme through a program/game called FoldIt, which was developed in 2008 by the University of Washington, scientists were able to figure out where throughout the structure would be the key place to attach possible drug treatments to find a cure. Reasons why Folding was created was to use human spatial reasoning skills to configure amino acid chains and unfold their structures.
If you’re wondering why this process can’t be automated by computers it’s because computers aren’t as capable of spatial reasoning skills as well as humans are. Although scientist have used a program called the Rosetta programme which can solve many different types of protein chains.

Netflix Is Sorry, But Not Really Sorry…
Netflix has been around for about fourteen or fifteen years now, and just recently has been making some extra bubbles in the hot tub of streaming entertainment, maybe even a floater. Netflix CEO Reed Hastings has sent out a mass email and even made a video about what they’ve done and the future plans of Netflix. In brief, Hastings dropped a big bomb on everyone today stating that the Netflix subscriptions were changing again, but not in price. The movie giant will be splitting it’s services to two separate entities. The streaming side will still be called Netflix, but the DVD side has been re-assigned and named Qwickster.
Qwickster will launch in the on coming weeks and will offer everything from movies to eventually games. Gamefly eat your heart out! Qwickster seems as though it will be trying to cover it’s bases is disc entertainment. Hastings noted that Qwickster will very much still be like Netflix but just called something else. One big thing that I myself have been bugged about is that if Qwickster is an entirely new service that means I’ll need to subscribe to Qwickster and Netflix to get my movie fix. Kingdoms of Amalur Pre-order Bonuses Announced
EA and 38 Studios’ Kingdoms of Amalur has announced some pre-order bonuses, and let’s just say they look very appealing. The three packs will offer some type of equipment to benefit game play whether it be adventurous, offensively, or defensively. Each pack will be allotted to a specific vendor for sale, those who have yet been named.
- Destiny’s Choice Pack: Twist of Fate Card (extra boost at beginning of game), Compass of Fate, three exclusive armor sets (one for each class).
- Fate-Touched Weapons Pack: A selection of “rare” weapons, designated as “fate-touched”: Longbow, Hammer, Staff, Faeblades, Daggers, Scepters, Chakrams, Longsword, Greatsword.

Nintendo Pre-TGS Wrap Up
Nintendo held a pre-TGS (Tokyo Game Show) conference to show off what they had planned for the rest of the year and some of the things planned for next year. There was a whole lot covered at the pre-TGS conference so let’s get started. First and foremost on the list is the secondary analogue nub a犀利士
dapter apparatus docking bay, or attachment for short. The analogue attachment will cost $20 and will require one AAA battery to power the nub. The add on will hit Japan first come December 10, and will support the the following games: Monster Hunter Tri G, Resident Evil: Revelations, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, Ace Combat 3D: Cross Rumble, Dynasty Warriors VS, and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance.
Another announcement was a new color of the Nintendo 3DS. Most likely aimed toward the feminine crowd, the “misty” pink 3DS will most likely be bedazzled will Hello Kitties and other princess-esque ornaments. Expect to see this hot item on October 20 in Japan. Some other news to look forward to for the 3DS will be in November when a system update will bolster 3DS 3D video recording and updates to StreetPass and Mii Plaza.
Nintendo also let the cat out of the bag on some release dates for some big games. First one up for DSiWare will be Zelda: Four Swords. Four Swords will be available for download starting September 28 and will be available till February 20, 2012 for the price of FREE! Other 3DS games on the horizon will be Super Mario 3D Land due out November 13, Fossil Fighters on November 14, Super Mario Kart 7 out December 4, and Fortune Street on December 5. These will be all great games for 2011, unfortunately not appearing this year will be Kid Icarus: Uprising. The publishers deemed it too early for the game to be released since more work needed to be done to perfect the game. To help dull the senses to the late release, Nintendo announced that they’ve teamed up with an anime studio to develop a 3D Kid Icarus anime that will be available to download on Nintendo’s Video service on the 3DS for free. Also being developed for next year will be Mario Tennis, Paper Mario, and Luigi’s Mansion. Hopefully all the information wasn’t too much, but at least you have a few dates to mark down on your calenders.
Dead Island “Bloodbath” DLC
Dead Island hasn’t been released for that long and it’s already making headlines for a lot of different reasons. Besides posting the wrong game for download on PC, Dead Island will have DLC available later on this month! The Bloodbath Arena pack will add four new survival maps that will let players fight unlimited waves of zombies in order to survive for as long as possible. There will be plenty of points to earn in the arena, just hope you have good friends next to you that’ll watch your back!
