CE Week NY 15: Audio roundup

Nothing speaks consumer electronics then audio you can either have on the go, in the shower or give you a new immersive experience. Here’s a rundown of what we saw at CE Week NY 2015 this year.

Braven
Braven had a few bluetooth speakers on display. The BRAVEN BRV-PRO is one that can take a hit. It has a metal housing, is water proof as well and in all was really easy to hold with good sound. It also sports different attachment options.

Astell&Kern
Astell&Kern
Astell & Kern provide sound at its truest form and while they had many different showcases of their music players the AK380 was the standout. Not only does the AK380 provides playback of music how it should sound it enhances music of all quality for a better experience

auro-3d
Auro 3D
Being placed in a dark room and being asked to listen to what’s around you can usually be distracting by what’s going on outside. Auro 3D is a powerful 3D audio codecs that aims to be the next generation standard. Watching a clip of a movie (Turbo), concert audio and ambient sound comes alive when being placed in the center of the room when listening.

pulse
Pulse (lights with sound)
Sengled’s Pulse is a lightbulb with a JBL multi-channel stereo wireless speaker hidden within. Put these in your home for an experience you haven’t had before. The best part is they can work together the more you put in to fill up different areas of your home.

fugoo
Fugoo
As bluetooth speakers go some of the ones that Fugoo displayed at CE Week was made for the more curricular activities. It’s Tough XL line can withstand a 6ft drop, coupled with it housing attachment is waterproof and nearly indestructible. It’s a bit on the heavy side but for all things considering it wasn’t strenuous to hold.

HRT
HRT had its new DSP and iDSP on display which are digital Sound processor’s. One is made for Android and the other for iOS devices. They’re designed to listen to your music and audio files as intended from your devices giving you the clearest sound.

sunfire
Sunfire
Known for its powerful high end subwoofer line its been making smaller subwoofers which just as much punch. The XTEQ8 is their 8″ subwoofer that really packs a punch, with 1,800 Watt its one powerful sub in its small form factor.

BENQ
The BenQ treVolo Wireless Bluetooth speaker was shown off and is the first Electrostatic portable Speaker on the market. It utilizes active electrostatic panels with a quad amplified design to deliver great sound in a very small box that folds out its speakers to range the sound further.
