Ubisoft Innergy beating Wii Vitality Sensor to the punch?

It was a year ago that Nintendo teased the world that it will be unveiling a new peripheral. Fast forward that year and Ubisoft has emerged with their own sensor and game called Innergy, are they stealing Nintendo’s thunder?
