Victrix Pro KO Leverless Controller Review: Is It Really Worth It?

Today, we’re taking a close look at the Victrix Pro KO Leverless Controller—the controller that recently snagged Tech of the Year at the EVO Awards. If you’re into fighting games and you haven’t been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard a lot about this one. If you’re considering upgrading your gear, this might be one to look into. Check out our video review above and let us know if you’d pick one up!

Let’s start with the basics: the build and design. The Victrix Pro KO has a slimmer, more premium feel compared to the older Victrix Pro model. What’s nice is that it’s really light and portable, but at the same time, it doesn’t feel like it’s going to fall apart in your hands. You can tell right off the bat this thing is built to last.

One of the highlights for me is the 16 moveable, mappable buttons. The layout is simple and sleek, but the real kicker is the hot-swappable Cherry MX Speed Silver switches. So, if you’re someone who likes the idea of a faster response time or a more tactile feel, you can easily swap out the switches yourself. Plus, there’s a 3.5mm audio port for your headphones, so you can easily plug in for both game audio and chat. It’s these little conveniences that make a big difference, especially when you’re in the middle of a heated match.

Oh, and those RGB button lights—they look fantastic. You’ve got a ton of options to play around with through the Victrix control hub.

When it comes to performance, the Pro KO Leverless doesn’t disappoint. The larger size gives you plenty of grip, so you don’t have to worry about your hands slipping around. Thanks to the Silver switches, the inputs are fast , smooth, and responsive.

Now, if you’re someone who puts in long gaming sessions, comfort is key. The 6.28° wrist slope really does make a difference, keeping your wrists in a natural position.

For me, the best part of the Pro KO is how customizable it is. This is where the Victrix control hub really shines. You can remap buttons, adjust SOCD settings, tweak audio settings, and, of course, go crazy with the RGB lighting. I had fun setting each button to a different color and then choosing how those lights would flash. Since you can store 4 different profiles, you can easily toggle between them depending on what you’re playing.

But the customization doesn’t stop there. The controller has a removable top plate, so you can easily add or remove buttons. I added two extra buttons to my layout, and the whole process was super simple—no need to mess with wires or anything complicated. Victrix even included extra switches, buttons, and tools, making the whole thing pretty painless. The only downside? You can’t swap out the faceplate, which would be a nice touch for those who like to fully personalize their gear. Hopefully, that’s something they consider down the road.

Now, if you’re a competitive player, you’re going to love the Tournament Lock Switch. This feature disables the system buttons (like the Home button), so you don’t accidentally pause or mess up your game during a critical moment. When it’s tournament time, those little things really add up.The USB-C connection also features a lock feature, ensuring you stay connected and don’t have to worry about accidental disconnections in the heat of battle.

So, let’s wrap it up. At $249.99, the Victrix Pro KO Leverless Controller isn’t exactly cheap, but if you’re serious about your fighting game setup, it’s worth the investment. The premium design, customizable features, and tournament-ready specs make it a great choice for players who want something that’s not only fast and reliable but built to last. Whether you’re just getting into the competitive scene or you’re already an experienced player, this controller can take your game to the next level.
