HERE COMES A NEW CHALLENGER!

PETA is setting it’s sights on Nintendo and the new Tanooki suit that Mario’s wearing in the new up and coming Super Mario 3D Land. PETA finds that although imagery of Mario wearing a tanooki suit gives the impression that it’s ok to wear an animal’s fur.

Tanukis are real-life raccoon dogs who are beaten and, as PETA’s undercover exposés show, often skinned alive for their fur,” says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. “This winter, everyone can give raccoon dogs and other fabulous animals a 1-UP by keeping our wardrobes fur-free.

Nintendo has responded with the following statement:

Mario often takes the appearance of certain animals and objects in his games. These have included a frog, a penguin, a balloon and even a metallic version of himself. These lighthearted and whimsical transformations give Mario different abilities and make his games fun to play. The different forms that Mario takes make no statement beyond the games themselves.

As the Sony 3D television hits store shelves across the United States, Sony has decided to add a little bundle to make your set-up complete. Harry Potters fans near and far will come together to get this limited edition package.

Sony has bundled together a 160 GB system and a copy of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2.” The bundle includes the 3D and regular versions of the movie on a blu-ray. Stolen Razers

Razer has lost some important laptops over the weekend, laptops that are prototypes of what is yet to come. Two Razer Blade laptops were stolen from the Research and Development labs, each going for about $2800. The gaming laptop boasts incredible specs, with a multi-touch LCD pad that doubles as a secondary screen and mouse pad, and a 17″ screen that weighs seven pounds for amazing portability. The company is looking for anyone with information to email them at cult@razerzone.com, and discourages everyone into purchasing the stolen laptops.

Black Friday 2011 Deals [Updated as information comes along]

As everyone knows, Black Friday is slowly creeping in as the holidays near. Everyone wants the best deal for their gaming needs, but usually don’t know where to go. With this comprehensive list, shopping should feel a little bit easier. One suggestion I would give is to write down exactly what you want so that you can go to these stores, grab what you need, and head out quickly.

Now, these deals are all from leaks, but cannot be confirmed until the day the legitimate releases are out. Therefore, any information we post for the time being will from an outside source unless otherwise noticed. The lists will be in order by item because doing single posts by one store will complicate things when trying to compare prices. Not every single specific item will be posted, but big-name items will. The deals will mostly be in order by best deal, but with all the information to put out, that can’t be promised as of yet.

Happy shopping, let the deals begin.

Be Elite For 30 More Days

0

Modern Warfare 3 has been out for over 48 hours and with no surprise there have been tons of hiccups. Even though Elite has had its paces set in place with a beta, connectivity and service of Elite has been intermittent, if at all. To make up for the problems and lack of service, Activision has decided to give members of the Elite service,  and members who sign up an extra 30 days of active time for free. Might be something to look into if you’re interested, and if that’s not enough then look at what else comes with the Premium pack.

The Vet and the Noob, Which One Are You?

Modern Warfare 3 is going live action for their new trailer. The new trailer has got some pretty big movie stars like Sam Worthington, Jonah Hill and Dwight Howard strapping on  tactical vests and moving out into the battlefield with SCAR-H rifles in hand. The trailer only makes me want to play more, and hopefully a movie deal will spawn from it. A good movie deal… not a bad one… we really don’t need any more movies like the Legend of Chun Li floating around.

NYCC: Hands On Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

1

I got a chance to get my grubby hands, well more chubby than grubby honestly… But besides the fact, on the new Resident Evil Operation Raccoon City. Throughout all four days of Comic Con, not once did I see the line/mosh pit disperse except when everyone was pushed out the door so they could lock down the convention center. Jumping in the hot seat, right off the bat you get to select one of six special ops Umbrella agents, each with a unique special ability. After picking the team leader Lupo, we waited till the load screen passed (a load screen in a Resident Evil game?!) and were treated to one of the original cut scene of where Leon and Claire become separated by a big fuel tanker driven by a zombie. You’re then lifted in by chopper to take to the streets in the heart of Raccoon City.

The battle starts as soon as your squad touches down on the pavement. A way point on your mini map lays out the direction that the team should be heading out towards. The game lets you freely roam however you like within the area, but if you stray too far you’re definitely guaranteed to get eaten by zombies, or at least wounded enough to make you run like a screaming girl in a horror movie back to your squad mates. The shooting mechanics and game play feel really tight like SOCOM, but movement and shooting feels more precise. Throughout the stage we ran into either hunters, or soldiers fending off zombies, which also tend to shoot at you and your team as well. One great thing that I noticed while playing was that enemies can possibly come from everywhere; vents, shafts, even by helicopter dropped pods. After reaching the way point a cut scene of the Tyrant plays, signaling a boss or mini boss fight. Unfortunately the demo ends there, leaving my itchy zombie killing trigger finger yearning for more. Guess we’ll just have to wait till March 2012 for it to come out till we can really get into the nitty gritty, but this is definitely one Resident Evil game that changes the playing field in a fun way.
