Online retailer Amazon buys Killer Instinct developer Double Helix

Sources have confirmed that online retail giant Amazon has bought Killer Instinct and Strider developer Double Helix. While this would seem like a strange move their is a rumor that Amazon plans to get into the gaming market by releasing its own android console. While this affects Double Helix’s current project Killer Instinct it doesn’t change Microsoft’s vision toward the franchise or so they said in a statement that they are looking to announce a new developing partner to take over soon. Double Helix was also working on Strider which is slated for later this month.

We’re interested to see where this goes as the acquisition also includes all of Double Helix’s intellectual properties, stay tuned as we’ll give you more info as we get it.
