Fresh from the thrills of E3, the gaming community is now very excited about the new motion technologies shown by Microsoft and Sony. The problem is these technologies won't be released for over a year, but you can pick up a 1:1 motion controller today with Nintendo's Wii MotionPlus.
The long awaited rumor of Microsoft entering the motion scene is no longer just a rumor, it has finally made its debut. It was thought Microsoft would announce a motion like controller at last years E3 but with no mention those talks quickly fizzled into dust. Today at Microsoft's Press conference we got a glimpse of it, not in the form of a motion wand controller however but of a new vision camera ? Yes you heard correct this camera code name "Project Natal" is able to detect full 3D movements within the game for a totally new experience.
I found this bit of news from several sources including the websites The Cut Scene and Joystiq. It seems that Sony has a patent on a motion-sensing controller and the speculation is that the industry giant will be showing off their new toy at E3 in the coming weeks. Interestingly enough the patent suggests that the controller is camera based and the movements will be tracked by LED lights on the controller. All of this means that Sony's new hardware will be more accurate than the Wii's Wii-mote.
