Riot Games set to have a new majority shareholder

Tencent had been one of the primary partners of Riot Games throughout the process of their release of “League of Legends”, both financially, as well as through artwork, but they have taken a step forward and decided to invest further into the company. President of Riot Games, Mark Merill has assured customers that the staff and vision of the company will remain the same, he went further to explain that the increase in budgeting will allow Riot Games to hire aggressively throughout 2011. CEO Brandon Beck followed up by explaining that Riot looks to launch new projects to “push the boundaries in the gaming space.” The company will maintain its headquarters in Los Angeles, and continue to work on their flagship game. No financial terms of the agreement have been disclosed.
