Alien Breed 3 Descent Review

Within a few months between each game the Alien Breed series is now up to their third part, the solid top down shooter has been providing gamers plenty of alien shooting fun and Alien Breed Descent stays close to this formula.

If you don’t know anything about Alien Breed that’s ok you don’t need to in order to try out the game, the story of the game is the usual space marines fighting aliens one. The story is just to setup the game which is similar to the games before it in the series. Theodore Conrad, chief engineer is aboard the Leopold and goes deep into the bowels of an alien vessel in order to find and destroy the threat that wrecked his ship. The game is a top down shooter that has the player going against waves of aliens, there’s plenty of guns and other items to use on the enemy so it doesn’t get too hard at any point in the game.

One of the main selling points of any of the Alien Breed games is the Co-op mode and it’s fun in this entry as it is in the previous one. The game is nothing amazing but sometimes its fun to just join a friend and shoot countless aliens, and you’ll do plenty of it in Alien Breed 3.

The game seems to add tweaks to the graphics and for a downloadable game looks exceptionally well. At this point we would like to se all three titles combined in one and added features that weren’t in the previous ones. Unfortunately the game doesn’t really add anything big to the overall gameplay, it plays very similar to the previous games you might not even notice the differences while playing this one if you’ve played the previous two games. The game does have a few more extra stuff outside of the main game like survival for those high scores and achievements enthusiast.

Overall Alien Breed Descent is similar to the other Alien Breed games, if you were thinking this game would be a big step forward in the series then you’re probably not going to enjoy it. However if you enjoyed the previous two games or you enjoy top down shooters then feel free to take a look at Alien Breed 3.

Overall = 7.0
