Update on Marvel vs Capcom 3

As some of you readers may already know, not too long ago Capcom released some new “teaser” information on its potential next big hit Marvel vs Capcom 3. The boys down at Capcom headquarters have decided to grace the public with more information regarding the new and highly anticipated character roster. Characters Dante (Devil May Cry), Felicia (Darkstalkers), Deadpool, and Captain America were among some of the confirmed combatants. Capcom also announced one if its newest features to the series, the “Exchange” button.  This button controls a variety of functions including:

  • Simplified launch attacks, which set your opponent up for many of the game’s beautifully rendered air combos.
  • Spike attacks, which deliver fierce downward attacks that enabled you to execute devastating ground combos.
  • Character switching, when pressed in midair, the exchange button allows you to switch between characters on the fly and/or during mid combos.
  • And lastly, Countering. From our interpretations, countering with the Exchange button works like a clash of attacks depending on correct guesses by the opponent in which direction the attack might be coming from.

Other news includes details on some of Deadpool’s special attacks (which included his signature teleportation device which malfunctions if used too often), some of the arsenal supplied to Chris Redfield, and the game’s art direction (which is highly identical to the art direction used in Tatsunoko vs Capcom for the Wii).

With E3 coming up right around the corner, many of us dedicated “MvC” fans will be waiting on the edges of our seats in anticipation for even more news about Marvel vs Capcom 3, a game that’s been 10 years in the making.
