Nintendo Switch announced, NX no more

After all the speculation, rumors and wait the long overdue announcement of Nintendo’s new console has finally arrived. Nintendo has officially revealed the Nintendo Switch, taking over its code name of Nintendo NX. The console slash handheld device will release March 2017. You also heard that right the Nintendo Switch is a powerful handheld that can be taken with you but will have two detachable controls on its sides and will have a dock to be able to play on the big screen.

The hardware that powers it is a custom Nvidia Tegra processor which they’ve worked on to give it the best physics engine, tools and software to fully take advantage the power. The controller is called Joy-cons and can connect to the device or to a control dock to use traditionally. While no games have officially been announced in the teaser trailer you did see The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Skyrim, NBA 2K, Splatoon a mario game and others.

We don’t know the full support of what is to be carried over from the Nintendo Wii U but we saw a glimpse of an Amiibo in the background. No other information on price or anything else has been announced but we’re thinking Nintendo will share that information soon. Check the teaser above and let us know your thoughts. We’ll keep you up to speed on the latest info as it comes in.
