GoPro HERO5 Black gets its drone on with Karma

Recently founder and CEO Nick Woodman of GoPro announced the new GoPro HERO5 Black and their new drone Karma. With new innovation, GoPro has definitely upped their game this time around with not only new features but with an entirely new look. If you haven’t invested into a GoPro yet, now may be a good chance to get your money’s worth. We set a bunch of the features below.
Waterproof without a housing for up to 33 feet
2 inch touch interface
Video: 4K 30fps, 1440p 80fps, 1080p 120 fps
12 megapixel still photos with the ability to shoot a time lapse of 30 fps and save in RAW and WDR formats
Image stabilization that is much more natural similar to the human eye
Stereo audio
3 microphones that actively listen to give you the best sound so nothing is muffled or get over powered by blowing wind
Wifi and Bluetooth – Auto-upload to GoPro Plus Cloud
Voice control with the ability to recognize 7 different languages (English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Chinese, and Japanese)

HERO5 Session which has similar features but in a smaller package with a lower price of $299.99 (Still 33 ft water proofing, 4k capabilities, 10 megapixel photos, voice commands, and still durable)

Collapsible propeller arms and landing gear
Built in front gimble stabilizer that is removable to be placed into the handheld Karma Grip to use it without the drone. Whether you use it while holding it or wearing it on a backpack or harness. (Usage time 1.75 hours, recharge time for Karma Grip 2 hours)
Remote control with built in 5 inch 720p display that lasts 4 hours (recharge time 2.5 hours) – One touch on and off, return to home button, interactive touch screen
First time flyers will have a in controller flight simulator to teach you how to fly before you fly. Also built in GPS no fly zones.
Passenger App – shares live video to a phone or tablet to have a friend control the video recording while you fly
Built in LED lights for low light conditions for tracking
Up to 20 min flight time on a full charged battery. Batteries take 1 hour to charge
Flight distance 3280 feet or .62 miles – Altitude 14,500 ft or 2.74 miles
Max Speed 35 mph 54 kph or 15 meters per second
USB C connector
So far we are not aware if the drone will have built in proximity sensors in case of trees, poles, or birds but, GoPro will offer something called Karma GoPro Care which is an extended accidental warranty for certain types of damage to the Karma. ($149.99/2yrs or $199.99 for Karma + HERO5 Black Bundle) Also there hasn’t been any confirm
